No more discount for length of stay past end of code date

I just spoke at length with a CRO supervisor regarding my disappointment in some passholders now receiving pins. As well as the GP discount's being out through summer and not the AP rates.

In the conversation she told me that some new codes will be out tomorrow which will include AP through June 4th. She also mentioned that they will no longer honor a rate code for length of stay even if you arrive on a day the code is still offered. If that sounds confusing here is an example. I am going June 3rd to 13. The discount code will only apply to the 3rd and the 4th and then the rest of the reservation will revert to rack rate.

I questioned if she meant the code or the season change and she said both. But just to be sure she tried to book the dates and yes the code would only cover June 3rd and 4th. The rest of the days were at rack rate.

I wonder now how booking will be? Will you have to have several reservations if your dates cross over and you have codes for all the dates or will they be able to put more than one code on your reservation? Regardless how this will work, it totally sucks!!!

It's actually been this way for a while - I think it changed in 2009?
Free dining covers length of stay as long as you check in by the last date of the promo, because it is a package discount. But discounts off room rate (or getting the rate for each season if you cross over seasons) have been set up like this for a couple years now.

I think 2009 is right - we were still able to do one of those starts in value season / crosses into a higher season trips in early 2008 and get the lower price for the whole time if I recall right. After that trip sometime, they changed that. Everything is priced by night now. I think it's all one reservation though - you don't have to make two just because your discount doesn't apply to every night (I'm not entirely sure on that).
