No more convention tickets in 2006?

SIL is attending a convention in early Jan. at WDW. DD & I were going to meet her after the convention and tour the parks. I called to get convention hopper tickets. The reservationist (on the Disney Convention ticket number) told me that they are offering MYW tickets beginning in 2006. No convention tickets available, no discounts for conventions. Has anyone else heard this also? Has anyone gotten convention tickets that are good past December 2005?

Not suprising really. One of the selling points for the bulk of convention tickets was they were not available aywhere else (2day, 3 day hoppers). With MYW Tix, that is thrown out the window. There was once a "back door" to buy the convention tix right from Disney (i did this last year) but that was shut off sortly after the MYW Tix became well circulated.

Wait and see though, they may have some kind of plan for next year not yet unveiled.

Marathon participants are being offered ridiculously good prices on the whole MYW spectrum. That weekend is January 6-8, 2006. My walking partner will get a four day hopper for $160.

Sure wish they would offer the convention goers the same type of deal. I will hang on and see what is offered in the next few weeks.
