No more character meals at Hollywood & Vine!!!

I just called WDW Dine to make PS for H&V lunch in May, and the CM told me that there are no more character meals after March 23rd!!! THinking the CM was nuts, I called back and that CM said the same thing, and they had just gotten the memo today, with no explanation as to why!!!

Anyone else heard this and why? Any new character meals on the way to take its place?

I already had a PS for breakfast on May 3rd. I hope this may only be a temp thing. Will they wipe out all future PS's?

We were told last night that H&V will serve dinner only starting in a few weeks. No definite date was given. Most of their servers are in the process of transferring to other areas.

That really stinks! I sure hope it's only temporary--but with Spring break and Easter both around the corner, I can't believe they would cut out such a great place to eat. I guess this would force folks to eat at some of the other places at MGM. My grandson will be upset because this is one of his favorite places to eat!

I don't think there are any other sit downs that do breakfast. I think there are some counters that have pastries and such.

This is a bummer - my DH is the character meal lover in the family - more than the kids almost - and he will just die if he can't eat there.

I hope it comes back, that this is just a suspension because of the lack of crowds.

We ate breakfast at the ABC Commissary in MGM our last trip, and really liked it. You can get a hot breakfast, and there is a nice variety to the menu. You must go up to the counter to order it and take it back to your seat, but the seating area is large, and comfortable.

This restaurant gives you another option that just Starring Rolls for a bagel or pastry.

BOO HOO!! No character meals at MGM, what a bummer! This was a great place for lunch to take a break, eat some good food and have fun with the characters, I'll miss this one especially when we go to MGM.

I just called and the CM said the change was due to "recent guest trends." So, now, there are no character meals at MGM and the dinner only will be effective as of 3/23. I had a PS for lunch in April. I tried to make a PS for dinner on the same day but they are all booked up now. She said they will probably call people who have PS's for breakfast or lunch after 3/23 but I guess it hasn't happened yet. Oh, well...

Although I am not a fan of H&V, I know many people enjoy it. I have just one question...

WHAT IS DISNEY THINKING?????

I know times are tough and attendance is down, but do they really think these kinds of changes help???

I also had a PS for lunch at H&V on May 3 had to change to dinner @ 3:30 (I thought first dinner seating was 4:30pm?) at BD.
