I'm getting ready to make my ADR's and booking Coral Reef for the first time, as my DH was really looking forward to trying their blackened catfish with pepper jack grits. But when I went to the online booking site to look at CR's menu, it showed changes for both lunch and dinner. The blackened catfish is gone! I'm so surprised (and disappointed), as I recall that item being very popular. Grrrr ...

Ugh! You are correct as I just saw that menu as well. :sad2: To me, that was the best entree on their menu. I just don't get Disney these days. :confused3

Wow, it was just on the menu the other week. What the hell, I was really looking foward to trying this dish. I noticed at LTT they took away the Chicken Pasta dish. Lots of good stuff is disapearing from the menus nowdays.

Waah. There are hardly any fish dishes on the lunch menu! The blackened catfish was the ONLY dish I wanted. Sadly I cannot get an ADR for dinner which has a better menu (except at 8:15, which is too late for us). I am less than 45 days out. I guess I now have to stalk the disney site for a decent Dinner ADR.

Popularity has proven pretty much irrelevant as far as WDW menu offerings go.

I remember someone posting that they were told the French toast loaf at Main Street Bakery was removed because it was TOO popular.

They've even removed Octopus Juice from the lunch menu ... I really wanted to try that drink - mainly because of its name. :laughing: My hubby is going to be bummed because he wanted to order the blackened catfish for our lunch there. And there's no way Disney can blame cost on eliminating catfish ... it's a muck-sucking bottom-feeding river fish. And oh-so-tasty when prepared corectly. :rotfl2:

:headache: the catfish is DD's favorite dish.....we have them booked for our upcoming Christmas trip too...well, we went with room only discount and passed on the FD...maybe we will just pass on Coral Reef too...and go for SUSHI at a new place!:thumbsup2

That is pretty odd, although they did do away with the catfish at the Garden Grill too. I was under the impression that the catfish for these restaurants was raised at the land in the aquaculture bins. I wonder why they would quit raising them? Just another dining ponderable I suppose.

What the heck? Now that truly bites - my favorite meal possibly ever gone... <grrr>

Are you sure?

perhaps it wasn't healthy enough and was replaced with a chicken hot dog on a crumbly whole wheat bun...:rolleyes:

Anybody notice any increase in pork on the menu? With all the swine flu, maybe they got a good deal on pig.

I checked the menu on WDW's website earlier today and there is no catfish entree listed any longer. :sad2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

You guys are killing me. :rotfl:

I was just at Epcot (WDW) Sept 13th- 20th do you guys think this may have something to do with the Land being closed, maybe they had to store the catfish elsewhere, just a thought, To be honest this past vacation I found that the food and service was just not as good as last year!

Coral Reef WAS one of our favorite meals but we were there this past Sunday and surprised to find the menu changed. The mahi mahi is changed, which was my favorite.The new prep of it was not good. And even the desserts were screwed up :headache:
