No More Appetizer On Meal Plan?

Hi... What is this about no more appetizer offered for the table service on the dining plan? Is that in effect now? When did it or will it change? Is it now or as of 2008?

It is for 2008. I am not sure it is official yet. I know for a while it was a rumor based on some info coming from the UK tours. The dining plan board may have more info. JJ

It is official now. It is for 2008, the standard dining plan does not include the appetizer with the TS credit and it also does not include the gratuity, so you will have to add that now. However it will cost $1 less per person for the plan.

We have used the dining plan for three, going on four trips! We always said it was an amazing value. My husband I said that Dinsey had to be losing money on the deal. I guess it was too good to be true. Sad for us.

That was my feeling too. The rumor is that Disney was losing money on the dining plan. Yes, they got more people to stay at the resorts but the resorts are filling up anyway. I was not surprised to see the plan cut back some. I think it still could be a value but before it was a GREAT value, now it is just a GOOD value.

I'd be surprised to learn that Disney was actually losing money on the plan. However, it was very clear that they were not making as much on it as they should have been. The changes for 2008 address that gap.

We just got back and did the plan for 4 days and i have to say it is a tremendous amount of food. I don't think taking the appy away is to bad. However i think they should give you the choice if u want an appy or dessert would be better. Every retaraunt my hubby was amazed that each person got an appy not just one for the table. By day 3 my eldest daughter didn't want to look at any more food. lol But it was great ordering whatever we wanted on disney's dime. i figured it out for what i spent on the room and what disney paid for my meals i made out $404.00 dollars for the 4 days.

I have a trip this Nov (2007) and am on the dining plan..........does this mean that I have to go by the new plan? I thought the changes began in January 2008?

With the ddp and deluxe plan gratuity is included for CRT, dinner shows, in room dining, and pizza delivery.

Count me in for another who rather have appetizer or[B dessert rather than both. DH and I are more appetizer people. My two sons, on the other hand, prefer dessert.
