No more All Hands on Deck :(

your comments are right on! there are people saying its gone because it was abused. doubtful. its room service and i go back to, if this were so, the mickey bar would be off the menu. you don't deliver one mickey bar to a room, its normally one for each person.
theres two reason to take it off the menu. one, as your caller said, is that it wasn't popular. things that don't sell often are taken off menus. the other would be if it was popular and they thought, hey, heres how we can make some money. my vote is for the second. i have yet to see a compelling argument to change that thought. one of the reasons that i think its the second reason is that they have done away with the wings as well and didn't someone say you can purchase them in the pub for a fee? lets make money! its a company motto.
thank you again for sending in the email. i'm sure they know resistance was going to call and you did. ::yes::
Unless I've lost my mind - which is completely possible - the Mickey bars are not on the menu. For the most part, people have been able to call Room Service and get them however. Let's hope that doesn't change :)

I read an article on this yesterday. The fruit plate and the cheese plate has been removed and are now very pricy items. I am thinking a trip to Cabanas with a plate to go is the best option now. Get it in the afternoon and pop it in the fridge. No way am I spending $38 on a plate that used to be free. Yikes. If I find the link to the article I can post it. It was on a page I follow on FB. They had the new room service menu posted in the article.

your right, they never were on the menu. i should have worded my response better so i apologize. when i said off the menu what i was actually trying to say was that you would get the same response as you do when you ask for the AHOD plate now, that they would say no…..so essentially off the menu = not available. they would just say sorry but you can't have it.
as far as i know you can still get mickey bars even though they are not listed but you can't get the cheese plate which is not listed.
i hope this is worded better. i can get confusing…….:crazy2:

CheeseGate 2016!!!!!!

(note that it is bad they keep removing stuff and I agree, just adding to the humorous posts previously)

never would have done it but now I think I may just grab a ziplock full of cheese and some contraband crackers on my Presidents Weekend cruise because I want to be a Chedder Pirate ;) I will report back what sort of manuvers were necessary to evade capture, will try to return with photos and if you hear about unrest you'll know its me

Rats! My two favorites are gone! AHOD and the wings. Not a dealbreaker for us, just something we looked forward to.

*** GOOD NEWS *** Some sources are saying the AHOD is back and appears to be issues with the Room Service Menus and a mistake by DCL. They acknowledged it was a "favorite" and it's back on the menu. I have not seen the menu to confirm however the response from DCL that was shared says it will be there.

Nice maybe DCL does read the disboards.

Hopefully this is true. I am going to feel silly packing a snack at lunch just in case I get hungry later. Much easier to order something if we actually get hungry.

i wonder if they actually will change the room service menus. this would entail, i would think, reprinting all the books. it will be interesting to see if they do…….

Not really. They can print just the one page of the Room Service Menu and paste it over the old one in the book. I've seen corrections for "printing errors" handled that way before.

I'm sorry, when you printed new menus and told people ordering the AHOD that it was no longer available but there is a $38 option, it was not a MISTAKE. It was a calculated move that backfired on DCL. Please don't insult my intelligence with your lame excuse. Own up to it and just change it.

HA! Thank you! This exactly! I'm glad it's coming back, if it truly is - but stop believing we are all idiots. You tried something and it didn't work, period. To claim error is more ridiculous than trying to make everyone pay $38 for the cheese platter rather than leaving it as is. :stitch2:

You do know there are other food options on the ship to this cheese plate, don't you?

Yes but what can you get mid afternoon that is not a sweet or other junk food? Cove Cafe has sweets, Cabanas in closed, and the pool side stuff is either junk or full meals.

I am just off of the Wonder and you can get pizza, salads, fruit, roll up sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, burgers. Not just "junk". Also, they didn't get rid of the entire room service menu.
