No more AAA Discounts given directly with Disney?

Can anyone, ANYONE please help me with this question? I just got off the phone with a CM who told me that they no longer book rooms giving a AAA discount, that I must now go through an actual AAA travel agent. She did not say that there were no rooms available with the discount. She told me that Disney no longer books AAA discounts directly. Is this really true? I just got back from a visit a few weeks ago and it was a room with a AAA discount that I booked using the 1-407-Disney #. I was fortunate to apply an AP discount to it later.

Has anyone else recently had this same problem? I'm so confused and upset. I've never had such a bad experience with a CM before tonight. She even told me that I wouldn't be receiving any paper work until after they got my deposit. Now, THAT I know to not be true.

What a nightmare, and I haven't even gone to bed yet!

I haven't heard that one yet. I'd call back and try a different CM.:D

I just booked POR for August with a AAA discount. Since my Disney Club card is now extinct, it's the only discount I have left!
 
Well, here's the thing: When I first called, the CM took down some information and said she would connect me and next thing I know I'm listening to a recorded voice telling me that I have been disconnected and must hang up and redial. I hang up, redial and as luck would have it (or not) I got the same CM. I should have just given up and tried again tomorrow. This woman definitely had no clue!
 

yeah, that's odd, because up until 1 week ago I had had a reserved room with a AAA discount applied to it, no problem. I recently changed it for the new code that came oout. But up until a week ago they were giving the discounts as long as they didnt run out for the limited amount of rooms, you know?:confused:
 
I would call back. You can speak to 5 different CM's and get 5 different answers. Call back and ask if there is any availability with AAA rate.
 
Well, I'll try calling again tomorrow. Hopefully, this particular CM won't be working first thing in the morning. I did make the reservation anyway without the discount 'cause I really want to go in May. :D

Many thanks to those of you who responded to my last post. I just got off the phone and talked to a super CM, the total opposite of my earlier one. She was able to apply the AAA discount to my reservation immediately. Boy, what a relief!

I knew you guys could help me out with this problem. Thanks to all of you, I am once again doing the happy Disney dance. Now I get to count down the days until our visit. The sub-zero temps we've been getting here don't seem so bad anymore. :bounce:
 
Call back, definitely. I just made a AAA reservation the other day -- room only. I think maybe the agent was confused -- Disney can't book AAA packages, but can book room only (or at least they could on Thursday.) Maybe she thought the policy applied to all AAA reservations.
 
WILL AAA DISCOUNTS APPLY TO THE DISCOUNTED SPRINGTIME ROOM ONLY RATES OR DO THEY ONLY DISCOUNT REGULAR RACK RATES? ANY INFO WOULD HELP:D
 
Nope, no AAA discounts on already discounted rooms. We use AAA as our first discount, then if codes come out for our dates, we change to the code rate, but you can't get two discounts.
