No MM 10/10 Saturday

Am I reading the Disneyland calendar right? On October 10th, a Saturday there is no longer a Magic Morning at DL. There is a DCA EMH from 7-8am on 10/10, and now on Sunday 10/11 is a DL MM from 9-10am (which doesn't help me since we are flying out that Sunday morning!)

It probably has to do with CHOC walk on Sunday, 10/11. I think they flipped the EMH/MM days because CHOC starts in DL and then goes to DCA. So in theory, the participants will be out of DL first.

We were planning on being there that same weekend this year and noticed the same situation on the calendar from last year. Looking at the historical hours for the last two years, there was no MM/EMH at DL on the second Saturday in October, but there was MM/EMH at DL on Sunday instead. EMH for CA was switched on those two days as well. I couldn't figure it out but hadn't heard about the CHOC walk until recently. Like figment said, that is probably the reason. I've heard it is crazy packed too, but I have no personal experience.

It just seems odd that they just changed it now, it's not like CHOC walk wasn't already scheduled and why change Saturday too when the walk is on Sunday, but if that's how they usually do it to make up for the on-site guests that makes sense. We probably won't make MM anyhow on our trip, 7am sounds early!

CHOC Walk Sunday is usually very crowded. In addition to the walkers (16,000 last year, although not everyone stayed to play in the parks), there are the guests who are there for Columbus Day weekend. The esplanade will be very crowded with walkers who are eligible to buy discount tickets on that day only, so expect lines at the ticket booths.

OHHH I can chime in here. So unknown to us we arrived for our Honeymoon on ChOC Walk weekend. Holy crap I haven't seen the esplanade and all areas that packed in since CarsLand opened ( Yup was there too!).
It is absolutely insane and I tell everyone I know to avoid that day like the plague. It was that miserable and while I respect the idea behind it , I can't at all recommend going to the area that day unless you are a part of it . especially in the mornings.
