We can agree to disagree, but this is part of their job and if they can't do it quickly enough they will step aside with you and complete the task without holding up the line. They are trained to do this, if you think going to GR is a better option that's fine but there really is no need.

We're just back from WDW and had the bad luck to be behind people using their phones nearly every time we were on line to enter a park. It brings the line to a standstill while the CM scans and gives out the plastic cards out to each person in the group/family. I never saw them step aside to do this with anyone, my guess is what they consider quickly enough differs from those waiting behind on the line. I wish they had some magic band only lines basically like express lanes, they move so much faster.

Can you order magic bands - new ones - prior to arriving at Disney? We are not staying on site and I'm not sure we'll arrive in time the day before our 1st park to run over to Disney Village to purchase.

Yes - shop Disney has a selection of original and MB+ once they arrive you can then link them to your MDE account. If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can also order them at a discounted rate and have them shipped to your home.

I’ve yet to see them pull anyone aside to deal with an issue… it’s always right at the tapstile, causing the line to back up while they sort it out. Policy may be to step aside, but that rarely happens..

This was our experience, we'd come to a complete and frustrating standstill.

Four adults. No interest in MBs. I have MDE with all 4 tickets. The others do not. Our first park is HS. When we arrive, do we need to go to Guest Services? Or, can we just go to tapstyles and they will print us paper tickets there?

If you have e-tickets with a bar or QR code, CM can do it at the entrance at tapstile. They will hand you a plastic card that works like a MB. No need to go to to guest services
