Since you'll have a car, one of my favorite local places around Universal is Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ. It's right around the corner from Universal and is great! You can check out the menu:

Emeril has two restaurants in the area, one at Citywalk and one at the Royal Pacific. His food is certainly good but it tends to be pricey.

We always like the Nascar Cafe. Bummer that Margaritaville is closed.
