No mail confirmation?

I talked with the reservation area at WDW to find out why I had not received my confirmation in the mail. The cm told me that if you get an email confirmation, then you don't get one in the mail. However, the one that I got on my email was not very detailed at all. It did not have my special request or any details at all on my email. Have they started not sending you one by mail if you get one by email? The cm said that I would not get one by mail until I paid my trip off and within a month before my trip. None of this sounded right to me. Does anyone know if they have changed it?
 
I got a confirmation by both e-mail and mail, but the one in the mail pretty much says the same thing as the one by e-mail. About six weeks before your trip, you'll receive a more detailed package, if memory serves me correctly. But you should have gotten something by mail - I got mine about a week after I booked online.
 
my first two trips we got always got a confirmation letter in fact we got a new one every time we made a change,upgraded added something or made a payment. this next trip we only got an e-mail confirmation. But they will mail you one if you call and ask. maybe they are starting to cut back. but the e-mail confirmation is the same one that they will mail you. also you can look it up online on the disney website.:thumbsup2
 
When I first made my ressies online for our Sept trip, I got both and e-mail and "snail" mail confirmation, but when I called a week and a half ago to add free dining (and change resorts) I never received an e-mail, but within a few days I got a "snail" mail confimation showing all the changes.
 

I guess I am concerned because when I first booked, they charged me twice for my deposit, $200x2! So, I have just been a little worried since then. I did get refunded. On my email though it shows both payments but only calculates one in the total that I still owe. When I go online to disney.com, it is there and everything looks ok. The confirmation I got last year was very detailed and was sent by regular mail and I never received an email at all. It makes me wonder if they are cutting back on the mailings to save money. I think I will call them tomorrow though just to be sure. If it helps I booked April 2, so I figured I should have had it by now. Thanks!
 
We always get a mailed confirmation. I got one when I booked, one each time that we have made a payment and also one when I changed from the DDP that I was paying for to the Free DDP with the Deluxe Upgrade. I have only recieved emails if I specifically requested them! It kind of sounds like it depends on which CM you get....:confused3

The last three trips I've booked -- I've only received email confirmations - and that's true for the my upcoming trip as well.

The email confirmation doesn't include things like room request or special reservations notations. They're still on your reservation, but they aren't sent with the email confirmation.

But I do seem to recall people saying they could call and specifically ask for a hard copy confirmation to be sent via US Mail... ?

It seems like that different cms are doing different things. But the cm I talked to this week when I asked about my mailed confirmation, she told me I would not get one until I paid my trip in full. Now, I did make a payment and received another email, so it sounds like maybe the cm clicks on something under your name to only make you get emails. I think I will still call tomorrow and ask for one though. Only because of the mix up to begin with. I like seeing the details in writing.

Did you get a confirmation by mail about a month before your trips? Or did you never get anything but emails?
 
I forgot to indicate that my situation differs from the OP in that I have reserved room only for the past few trips.

The last time I reserved a package (12 ~ 14 months ago) .. I did get two deliveries

1. Disney Magical Express Info & Luggage Tags
2. Package confirmation & Planet Hollywood Voucher, Minigolf vouchers etc.

Both within 30 to 45 days of departure ....

With room only.. I have only ever received the DME paperwork and lugagge tags. Nothing else.

We didn't get anything in the mail for our recent trip (4-8 to 4-15). I kept asking DH because I remember getting a packet with luggage tags for the two trips prior to this one. He just had the email confirmation and the packet from ME.

Everything was fine with the reservation and our request was met.
 
Last year for my families two room only reservations we got e-mailed confirmations and confirmations that were mailed to our house. For our two upcoming trips this year which once again are room only reservations, so far we have only got the e-mailed confirmations and we don't think they will mail any to our house.
 
Are those of you who are only getting emails booking packages? room only? My ressie is a package. They will have to mail me something later on for my vouchers I guess.
 
I only got by email.If you call and tell them to please mail you a paper confirmation/itenerary they will.
 
Just had a room only reservation with an AAA discount (not booked through AAA but through Disney for the discount). I never received any confirmation. Not email, not snail mail, nothing. I did call back once to add a request (which I got) but that was it.

More and more places are getting rid of sending out mail. Online bill paying, online banking, even incentives to not getting paper mail.

BTW - when I checked in, I wasn't asked for paperwork at the security shack (Pop Century) and everything was fine even with the request for a king bed.

That was room only but I figured if I didn't need a piece of paper, why ask for it?

Funny my emails did have my request :confused3 maybe it depends on the CM you talk to when we call?? Some of the emails I receive from them are blank :lmao: so I call back & ask for another email. The CM told me she would send another & one by snail mail. :goodvibes
 
I booked room only with AAA discount last month over the phone through Disney. I have not paid it in full yet but did get mail confirmation.
 
we got all confirmations via email - then we got a mailer about 2 weeks ago - so about 30 days prior to the trip with all the information spelled out - I called to verify one thing that I was concerned about and other then that we are good to go... granted we dont really have any "special" requests or anything just our trip and all with dulx dining, park hopper tickets, etc...
 
I got an e-mail an it had my confirmation number, then a link. I followed the link and it had specific information. like this:
