No luggage tags! :(

Sounds like there's multiple experiences. With a package, I received a letter in the mail at home, prior to my arrival, with the Mickey and Minnie luggage tags and the Magical Extras coupons. I didn't order any Magic Bands.
Bingo. The only ordering done was the MB colors.

I don't know, we got a package and we got magic bands. Magic bands came very soon after we ordered and no luggage tags!

We leave in 70 or so days and yesterday we got a "magical" email talking about our trip. That's it!
Weird. My luggage tags came in the box with MBs. They were kind of hidden at the bottom of the box, under a cardboard piece.

Pre pandemic, we received one for every member of our party before we arrived at WDW. Didn’t matter if we traveled by plane or Amtrak, they were in the mail along with written instructions. The colors varied and we junked the ones we didn’t like. I suspect that they have limited supplies what with the MDE ending and imagine that they are available at EBay, Etsy, etc. Might also be available at stores on site. Maybe the stores that have cellphone covers?

The specific tags aren't available for sale by disney. you got them because you booked packages and got magic bands, most likely.

so the tags do not come before your trip? That's sort of weird. We booked a package. From what I am reading here, you get your luggage tags after you arrive?

The souvenir tags aren't really useful for flying. Too easy to tear off in the airport machinery.

They have been in the MB box in a side part that you have to know to open to open it. Or you have to be someone who tears boxes apart.

Yes, I clarified that in a later post but good of you to put all the needed info together.

Haven’t had any problem with them being torn off but we rarely travel with checked luggage. Unless it’s free and they ask for volunteers on the skyway. Thank you, Jet Blue, LOL.

I believe if you order magic bands they will still come in the package with those before your trip. However, since MBs are no longer free, if you choose not to order them you can pick up your luggage tags and other package stuff (mini golf coupons etc) at the front desk upon arrival.
We just got magic bands, no luggage tags…they are at the resort.

I just received the luggage tags in a mailing for my end of August trip. It wasn’t in my magic band box that was a separate mailing. It was the same tags that another poster posted a picture of earlier in this thread. I got 4 tags. One for each guest on the reservation.

We leave next week. We received our magic bands about 3 weeks ago and our luggage tags last week. They came in separate mailings.

I booked ME in June for our trip in a week. I got an email back that ME is no longer transferring guest luggage to their resorts, so we are expected to pick up our luggage at the carousel ourselves and bring it on the bus. The email also said I would not get luggage tags or a confirmation in the mail, and it had instructions about what I needed to do at the airport.

That bites. One of my favs was dropping off my luggage at my home airport and not having to haul it or see it again until the resort. I wish they would have refigured resort costs to continue this service. Off-site is definitely looking more enticing if there are no new benefits for staying onsite.

They stopped the luggage services for DME when they re-opened after the pandemic last year. 😢

Well, to be fair, they always said DME was a "temporary" service so it really was nice while it lasted

Weird though that many people in this thread as still getting them???? :poop:
They are getting the Disney themed luggage tags, not the ones that used to indicate where the luggage should be sent. And it seems to be hit or miss whether they are sent to your home. I leave next week and have not received tags, though this time we booked room and tickets separately, not as a package as we have done in the past. I'm not expecting them, we do check bags and at least 50% of the time the tags were gone when the luggage came off the plane!😂

There are two different types of luggage tags being discussed. The Plastic Character ones and the yellow DME luggage tags that are no longer being used since Summer 2020.

This really adds to the confusion in the thread. Also the Character tags are always available at the resort if you purchased a package.

ahhhhh......thanks for the clarification!

We ordered a package also, I ordered my magic bands which arrived but no luggage tags were included.

In April 2016 when booking a package through AAA, my cousin and I got the matching luggage tags in the mail; they matched with what color magic band we picked (she got pink with Daisy duck since she had a pink magic band, I was given purple with mickey and minnie due to ordering a purple magic band). When I booked with my Mom in September 2018, we booked a package through *** and I was told we would not be receiving the luggage tags to go with our magic bands. I booked through *** for our December 2019 trip as well and did not receive them either. I was under the impression they didn't do this anymore but maybe it's due to how I was booking! lol.
