no love for The Plaza?

They had steak fries last week when I ordered a side with my salad.

“Mid” is a pretty good description of this place. It a place to go for lunch if I’m staying in MK, but it’s mediocre. If I plan to leave after lunch I now skip dining in MK altogether and do S71 for lunch instead.

This is my struggle because we only have one MK day so it would be better to stay in the park. We usually leave for lunch. Nothing looks super appealing to us. Without leaving I do need to plan some sit down indoors time though. As of now it's ADR for The Plaza...and hoping for steak fries and club sandwich!

I really don't understand why there are not more options for lighter lunch choices (well I do I guess...they want people to feel like the dining plan is "worth it" and they want more $$$ at lunch) like better salads and light sandwich choices. Strawberry, chef, cobb, chicken salad etc. Club, turkey, grilled cheese and fruit etc. I don't want a huge heavy meal when I am in the parks but I want something slightly better than QS and honestly its vacation i want a waitress that I am happy to tip.

right! I want to sit down and get off our feet for a bit. Also my daughter has a couple food allergies so TS is always a better idea for us. I cannot imagine eating a hot turkey dinner for lunch in the August heat! Nor a bowl of pasta! Or a huge buffet! well anyway. I hope for the best!

This last time was the first time that I can recall that we didn't eat at the Plaza. The family really didn't show any interest when planning reservations. I think not having meatloaf anymore was the deal breaker.

Add us to the no-thanks list. We went a couple of years ago and were seated right next to the kitchen. With the doors continuously swinging and the closeness of the other tables, it felt chaotic; far from a relaxing meal. I even had to flag down our server to get a drink refill. I honestly don't even remember what food we ordered, so it must not have been stellar

The Plaza was a must until they removed the fried green tomato sandwich. Also the prices have sky rocketed in the past year.

It's....fine? It will accomplish the get-off-your-feet-in-the-AC goal, the food isn't terribly overpriced, and it's not half bad for diner-esque food. I've always found it perfectly adequate, and in the Magic Kingdom that's worth a fair bit.

We've made lunch out of apps at Skipper Canteen. That wasn't the plan but we just weren't all that hungry in the moment. I think between the two of us we had the falafel, the tuna, and the salad. It was exactly what the moment called for.
