All,

Just got off the Fantasy. My family of 4 was seated at an 8 top with another family of 4.

Don't know if that was the exception instead of the rule, but I can 100% confirm that they will seat you with other families again.

Did you have first or second seating? doesn’t surprise me it is back. Hopefully on lower crowd cruises not in peak cruise season they will take more request for private tables.

We had first seating. We heard from 3 different cast members that we were around 3,100 passengers for the cruise.

I was on this same cruise and we had a lot of 4 tops in our dining rotation. My son was sad we weren't seated with another family. He wanted to meet new people. We were still close enough together that we talked to several of the tables. We had main dining.

I was on this cruise as well, and was likewise told the passenger count was 3,100 by our lead server, Charlie.

How did you find the crowds? Just my perception - it didn’t feel as crowded as this last-Eastern-Carib-sailing-of-May normally does, but it didn’t feel 25% “less crowded” either.

Our family of five was seated by ourselves at an 8-top, but I had requested in advance to be seated alone.

Also, weird that MSDA was Muppets-only. It didn’t bother me because I love the Muppets, but I wonder why they eliminated both Paintings & Puppies. All I can think of is that the two easier mysteries would attract the kids who can’t get vaccinated yet, and DCL wanted to curb the number of those kids running all over the ship? I doubt that’s the reason but it’s the best I can come up with.

We had the puppies one on the fantasy 4/30-5/7

Yeah, I don’t know then. 🤷‍♂️

Now that you mention it, I did catch a glimpse of one family doing a non-Muppets case (I think it may have been Paintings), but I never saw anything but Muppets casebooks offered at both desks.

I believe we only had the muppets and puppies I don’t recall there being the paintings one. But I know for certain we had the puppies as we did that, and the muppets was an option as well but don’t recall the 3rd.

So a little over 75% of capacity.

This is my least favorite thing about cruising :(
Having to share a table? I’m with you.

But FYI - every time I request a table to ourselves, I get it. The only times I have ever had to share a table were 1.) my first cruise, when I didn’t realize I had a choice; and 2.) my sixth cruise, when I forgot to make the request.

And even in situation #2, after the first night, I asked for a table to ourselves and got it for all subsequent nights. As it turned out, the other people also wanted a table to themselves, so it worked out for everyone. 👍

They won't quarantine the entire table if your tablemates test positive, right? That would be terrible to force people into a situation that could result in that.

The crowds didn't feel as bad as our last pre-Covid Fantasy cruise. Things like Bingo and the main shows had massive crowds as usual but other things were accessible.

I figured they would bring it back.

Do they still try to pair you with a similar party? (i.e., two adult couples or families with kids around the same age)

Things don’t get back to “full” normal without sharing tables. The dining rooms simply weren’t built to accommodate individual tables for every party. The rumored 3rd seating may make it possible.

That’s a great question! Hadn’t even thought of that. But, if they do and word of that spreads, there will be so many private table requests they’ll need to add two more seatings! :)

We were on this cruise as well. According to some of the cast members we spoke to, there were supposed to be 3600 passengers but only 3100 or so made it on. We saw 25+ pallet loads of luggage going back into the terminal before we sailed away which we suspected were due to positive tests.
