No longer can use Target 5% RX rewards on GC's

Did it require a manager to override?

Yes, a manager did override it. He was the one ringing me up at guest services and when my pharmacy rewards did not go thru, he voluntarily pulled an ipad out and read the fine print on the pharmacy rewards website. I did not ask him to do this. He said "it doesn't say you can't use the pharmacy rewards on this transaction so I'll give you the discount manually." I have shopped at this Target for years and recognize this manager- he is not new. I can't imagine that he would put his own job in jeopardy just to give me a discount. A discount that I did not ask him to override, might I add.

The new updated pharmacy rewards certificates are no longer valid on any gift card. This just changed. I was also told today that Target employees also lost their discount on giftcards. I am hoping they will not stop the 5% with Target redcard discount. Atleast we can still get 5%.

If they pulled the 5% discount, I'm pretty sure there would be a huge madness on their FB page and in their stores with PO'd people. I wouldn't have the need to shop there any more, that's for sure. I'll just go to BJ's instead, shop, AND get my Disney discounted GCs.

I was surprised they did it to the employee discount more than I was with the pharmacy discount... the no warning thing to your own employees seems more malicious to me.

It's marginal, like 3%. But still better than nothing.

Unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me either, but at least there is still that for now. There are other ways to get discounts though. For example, using an AMEX card (including Serve) synced with the recent Lowe's promotion, you can buy a 50$ Disney gift card if your local Lowe's has them and get reimbursed for 10$ of that purchase making it a 20% discount. Limit is 50$ per AMEX card, but still not a bad deal even if just for 50$.

My sisters Target gave her the rewards discount for MY giftcards! So I was still able to get the 9.75%! She used it a few weeks ago and took her receipt to show them and they gave it off of mine too! I just put the money in her bank so she could do the transaction as we live in different states! My sister asked them if they would lose there job for this and he said NO that is not true! So I was soooo happy so save the other 5% discount! And just finished the tedious job of entering in all the giftcards but totally worth it!

Can you enter them online or did you have to do it over the phone?

I did them online! But I had a packaged booked so you can enter in as many as you need. I had 62 gift cards!

The 5% red card discount is still live! Just picked up a bunch towards our trip. I am hoping it works to pay them online to keep things easy for the CM's.
