What is concierge? I assume it is more expensive, right? What all is different about it?

I personally have never had the money for concierge but I know a little bit about it. If you are on a concierge level you have a room with refreshments(food and drinks) available to you. You also could have turn-down service and help making restaurant reservations or reservations for golf/boating etc. I know at AKL you have the opportunity to go on the sunrise safari. Different hotels will have different specifics.

the above poster is correct. they will make ADR's or any other arramgenets for you, turn down, you havea ccess to the hotels concierge lounge which puts out different types of food and drinks and snacks out throught the day, generally the room location is better (not always) for example, RPC coneirge at teh GF is all in the Main building

Disney has re-named it "Club Level" and that is more indicative of the service it provides. They put out assorted foodstuffs at certain times. Packages purchased in the parks are delivered to your room the next day (no waiting in the gift shop). They turn your bed down. You can call them instead of calling Disney Dining to make ADRs. They are supposed to pre-key you (get your room key ready before you show up) to make check-in a breeze, which is nice when it happens, but that doesn't always happen.

The rooms are the same whether you stay Club Level or not. Not bigger, no difference in style. And you have to put a room key in the door to the building or elevator to access them, which is kind of a pain in the butt.

It is about $125/night extra.

I used to stay Club Level back when they called it concierge, but quit. I can stop at the grocery store and buy my own gummy worms and generic bags of popcorn (or better snacks!) and Diet Pepsi (which I'd rather have, anyway.) I can dial Disney Dining instead of dialing Club Level (who cares what number you dial?). I can turn my own bed down. Since I take a mid-day break and head back to the parks, I was almost never around for dinner offerings, anyway. And I can eat Stouffer's mac n cheese any old time. It's good and all, but I don't need to pay extra for that.

The only thing I miss is package delivery. And I'm just not willing to give them $125/night for that.

At the AKL you can also take the "Club Level" early morning safari. You have to get up extremely early and then have a light breakfast in the lounge. Then it is off for a very long safari that stops for questions and pictures. It is only offered at club level.

Why is "Club Level" more indicative of the service provided than "Concierge"? Just curious.

We've stayed Concierge or Club Level or whatever at AKL and WL, and most recently we stayed main building club level at GF. We've enjoyed them all. We don't use the planning service much, but we enjoy having food available at breakfast and throughout the day. Makes the trip particularly relaxing and convenient.

Okayyyy....sounds too rich for my blood. My husband is a full time student with no income. I don't think we'll be booking this anytime soon. FW with a golf cart will have to do for us. I'll bring plenty of groceries, set them out on our table in our cabin, make my husband turn down the sheets and CARRY MY PACKAGES, and we'll call it FREE CONCIERGE!! LOL Thanks for filling me in everyone. I feel a little, tiny bit smarter now.....lower class, but smarter!! LOL

I just quit smoking and that extra money is funding our stay at the Beach Club, however, I still couldn't afford conceirge. Hmmm, I like your idea of free conceirge...I think I'll apply the same. LOL

What is turn-down service???
The maids come into your room in the evening and turn down a corner of your bed and leave a mint on the pillow. Or, they prop a pillow up and put a mint by it.

At Disney, they add a little card that is usually themed to the resort. And they don't always leave a mint, they often theme the thing to the resort (e.g. taffy at the Boardwalk).

Most hotels turn on the clock radio by the bed very quietly. Disney doesn't.

They also take any dirty towels and replace them with clean ones. If you don't have club level service, you can accomplish this by calling housekeeping and asking them to bring you towels.

I often come in and flop down on the bed when I'm not actually ready to sleep. But I don't want to flop down on the sheets while dressed, so I generally undo the turndown service, anyway. It is kind of nice when you're traveling alone, though. Something to come home to, in a way.

Real concierge service knocks themselves out doing anything and everything that can be done. Want tickets for a sold out show? They'll get them. Feel like a Monte Cristo sandwich at 3:30 in the morning? You'll get one.

Asking a "concierge" person at Disney for so much as a Diet Pepsi is too much for them to handle. They are polite. They smile. They ask which park you went to that day and how you enjoyed it. If you want to make small talk with staff people, Disney's club level attendants are the best.

They just can't do very much for you. And almost none of the things they do for you are things you couldn't do for yourself by dialing a different phone number. Calling the front desk, Disney dining or housekeeping is free. Calling concierge is $125/night. Pick your phone number.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Love this!

The convenience of Poly concierge is AWESOME! You know you will be in Hawaii, the greatest location! The kids can get a snack at anytime, the desserts are great in the evening. You don't have to go to the refillable mug station, lol, you just step into the lounge and bring back a few pops and stick them in the fridge. You also get wine and beer. I plan on drinking around 4 glasses of wine a night, lol, I'm on vacation! I can't wait! 44 days away!

They help you make ADR's isn't it almost too late to make ADR's when you are there? It is tough enough to get places and times you want booking 180 days out, I can't imagine trying to book when you are there.

UMMM. I can turn down my own sheets at night, I don't need to pay extra for that. LOL

You send them an email 180 days out, or even sooner, they keep track of when your mark is and secure them for you.

Gotta love concierge don't you.:thumbsup2 Oh I am sorry Club Level. We always stay Club Level when we go to Disney and will continue to do so. We have never had to make any of our ADR's or any of the Wishes or Illuminations Cruises as well. Send them your info and they will do it all. We have also had them assist us with transportation to another theme park. They are more than willing to go out of their way to help you. Can't wait for April. HURRY!!!!

You don't even have to stay concierge at Disney to get turn down service. It is available to anyone staying at any deluxe resort at WDW. Just call the mousekeepers when you get to your room and have it added for turndown service. We requested it once at the Poly because my little girl wanted to see what it was. She found it was no big deal and we never requested it again. LOL!

We stayed concierge at CR once and it was fine. I don't think it was worth the
extra $$. There was one cool thing, though. You could only get to that level
if you knew "the code" to key in when you got into the elevator. That would
keep the folks in "steerage" out!

For folks who want to pay for club level pampering, more power to ya:thumbsup2

As for me, I am too much of a control freak to let anyone make my ADRs for me, too private and don't want people constantly watching my comings and goings, and for the money I could just order room service everyday and get the food that I want made fresh that other guests have not been....germing up:scared1: My kids and DH are picky eaters anyway (and dd has food allergies) so we use garden grocer for food and beverage delivery at the beginning of our trip. It's like 24hr club level in our room.

I agree with a pp about turndown service. We tend to hang out on our beds before putting on our pjs so I would have to undo that service.

For folks who are just too busy to research and call for ADRs and such, they can just have a TA do it for them for free.

Some folks like the room location for club level and that is a plus. At Poly, I much prefer Tokelau or Tahiti for the room size, gauranteed balcony/patio, and location.:woohoo:

Now I might change my mind about club level if I had unlimited access to Pina Colavas.....
