Just talked to some powers that be...

There's no chance of expansion in the World Showcase beyond restaurants and retail. At all. Period. The company has essentially given up on the concept.

No new pavilions, no new rides or shows in existing pavilions.

Honestly, good. There is nothing wrong with World Showcase, why shoehorn another pavilion in there just because there is a space. They should continue to focus on Future World by overhauling Universe of Energy.

Not true there are a lot of plans that just need to be green lighted.

All that is needed is for a country to approach Disney and the government, or a major corporation in that country, offer to sponsor a pavilion and there will be a new pavilion added.

Or if Mitsukoshi says to Disney we would like to build a roller coaster as part of the pavilion themed after Mount Fuji it will appear.

We are not close to a new country but very very close to a few attractions being added to existing pavilions.

That's not true. Disney actually turned down countries after Norway opened. It wasn't in their plans so they didn't play-well-with-others for lack of better terminology. If you dig in the Orlando Sentinel archives you'll find stories after Norway of Disney saying "no" blatantly to a few countries as well as burying others in red tape.

As for "very close" additions - I have definite doubts consider what I've heard. I think you'd b very hard pressed to find a shred of evidence of work on design for anything in the World Showcase (and remember, these projects take 5+ years in design/planning to come to fruition) aside from restaurants and shop expansions/remodels. They are, simply, not working on it and have no intention of doing so.

Can you offer any support to your logic, other then you said so?

Do you have a shred of evidence to support your no plan to do anything statements?

Personally I like the WS the way it is now. It's roomy and doesn't feel crammed in. I would be concerned adding more countries would make it feel crammed. That's not to say I wouldn't want it to see some representatives from countries not offered. Being Dutch, I'd love some Belgian or Dutch representation, but I don't want to ruin the experience. I like the fact that the WS is mostly shows, exhibits, etc and not full of rides and thrill seeking entertainment. That's just my opinion though...

I would think the whomever "the powers that be" are would be a bit shortsighted to say NEVER to anything. Additionally if the corporate sponsorship ($$$) and idea is right I am sure at the very least Disney Powers would at the very least consider the offer seriously.

Especially when you consider that in the future WDW could have double the visitors. Will they have eight parks or expanded the four they have now?

Why should they bother? There are at least a gajillion people roaming around WS now. There is no incentive for Disney to spend any more $$$$ there. People still go in droves. Ever try to leave that park at night after the fireworks? THAT gives you a true picture of the fact that there are enough bodies going through the turnstiles already, and Disney has no reason at all to spend any more money there.....:sad2:
People who go to WDW once every few years don't even remember what they saw the last time, so there is no reason to add anything. Now, people like ourselves, DVC members and Florida residents living close by, are the ones that whould like to see new stuff......but I guess there just ain't enough of us to make a difference to Disney.

Whoa there! They are spending money. You may not get there much but there are two different construction walls up right now.

Whoa there? what, am I a horse?
Anyway, we are there just about every week with the exception of June 09 through August 15th. {Florida residents seasonal pass} and we are there, although not in the parks, during that period as well, and Yes, they are now spending SOME money, but please, a lot of the walls are for superficial things, not new, gigantic additions to the parks. The MK construction is the biggest thing in years, but believe me, they could be doing a lot more, like they do in the overseas parks. Sorry, but they have not spent any decent amount of $$.

Well you should know having been there so much, that Epcot is getting a new and expanded dining options in the near furture. This is in Epcot to earn more money.

Like i said, just shops and dining...

And for those who say something more is coming and it's my burden of proof - umm, how exactly does one prove something doesn't exist? Where am I supposed to get evidence of "nothing" and its non-existence aside from what I've been told?

Shouldn't any coming plans have physical evidence? Shouldn't there be rumors on the internet - since everything gets leaked - shouldn't there be meetings with Disney and country officials that are vaguely related but not obvious you could even cite? Heck, what about some surveys or balloon tests for sitelines? 3rd party contractors being asked to look into this or that..

But there's not. There's nothing. It's not going to happen and no amount of wanting it to be true will make it true. And btw, if you're posting here and made any comment about something's existence or lack thereof, you don't work for the company in a position where you'd be held to a non-disclosure so anything you know could be shared.

So if you've already said you know, then you can tell. No more of the silly games.

What you have is just a belief, because you have no proof. It does in no way make it a fact as you stated originally.

Why did you start the silly game?

It's not a silly game, though it's interesting to see people make assertions with nothing to back it up.

I talked to people who would know, poked and prodded as much as I could, and the end result is being told what I stated.

Conversely, you've got a bunch of people who wont even say how they supposedly know this information that there is something coming. I think i'm well in my rights to question their supposed knowledge.

So, are you the pot or kettle? At least two of the individuals that have posted info are employees, so you might take a step back or the MIB and helicopters will be showing up.
