No Gold LF Upgrade?

I am a Loew'sFirst Gold member. I made a res (with AAA discount) for May26-28 at the RPH and the res'ist automatically upgraded me from GV to WV. Later, I called again and asked if it would be possible to pay for a higher priced room and get a better upgrade. This res told me that the ONLY upgrade for LF members was the GV to WV. She was so stern, I figured it was not worth arguing and hung up. Based on the posts here, it seems she is wrong, though. What is correct? I would like to stay in the Club level, but just not sure ($80 dif from my GV to the Club AAA rate).

I don't think an upgrade to club is one of the automatic ones. I've never been able to hit that jackpot upon reservations. I think if you are upgraded to club it is just a lucky draw and not an entitlement.

An upgrade to a premium room is usually only a $20 increase in price or so. A suite upgrade is allowed if you're a platinum member. Even then, it is not a club upgrade.

The only Loews Gold upgrade you are entitled to (with a qualified rate) when making your reservations is garden view to water view. There are no gold upgrades to club level.

If a suite is available when you check-in, you may upgrade to one for a fee of $35 per night. At the RPR, this would get you a King Suite, which does not automatically have club level privileges and can have a variable view.

It is the folks who are Loews Platinum who are able to get upgrades to suites at the time of booking.

So, the Loews person was correct. Sorry she was borderline rude when explaining it though.
