No full size cars?

For 12/27 to 1/3, except Dollar!! I know this is peak time, but is it likely that any full cars would open up? Should I keep checking periodically, or would it be a long shot?

Also, is $429 base rate for a full size car reasonable for that week?

Thanks!:smooth:

Did you try KISS3 as a code? Thrifty has them will all taxes at 451.57.
You really need to check all agencies and use all codes. www.mousesavers.com has a bunch.

You're back Gail! I hope you had a great trip!

I should have mentioned in my post that I am trying my best to avoid an off-site agency. I actually also saw about this same rate ($443) from Hertz, but again, it's off-site.

Do you think it's likely anything will open up on-site or a long shot?

Thanks for your help as always Gail.

rjjr, we use Hertz all the time. We are driving out of the lot within 10 mins of boarding the shuttle. It goes very smoothly. Many people are very happy with Hertz.

I have timed it many times because of the comments about Hertz being offsite and it has never taken more than 10 mins to be driving away.

We used to use National and Emerald Aisle but found Hertz was quicker. Good luck on your car hunting.

Safetymom,

Thanks for the insight, 10 minutes sounds great! What is the longest you have had to wait for the shuttle to come? I have only used National's EA, but I'm surprised that this seems to be faster for you. Why do you think that is?

Thanks so much for the tip, I will definitely rethink my restrictions!:Pinkbounc

I have NEVER had to wait for a shuttle either at the airport or the return lot. The longest I sat on the shuttle waiting to pull out was 2 mins. They have buses in two locations outside the terminal and the return location has buses for each terminal.

We went 7 times this last year and never waited. I am very pleased with Hertz. As I said I really watched the times because of the DIS members that swear off offsite rentals.

Great! That's exactly the info I wanted to know. I really appreciate your quick help with this. Thanks!:D

I use Hertz at MCO all the time. I also find them quicker and faster than the on site guys. I have rented with National, and find that Hertz cars are newer and in better shape. One year over Presidents week National ran out of cars, and that was 2 days before most people were due to arrive. If I had a choice , go with Hertz.

I made my reservation for 12/27-1/1 on 5/1/03 using the DC discount and the ent coupon. I got $204.95 base before discounts and taxes. $203.39 final estimate. Emerald Aisle-Intermediate Car.
When I try to go into National to check for better rates, they say 'no cars available'.

I guess $203.39 is about the best I am going to get for a 5 day rental, but I will keep trying.
