I noticed on the adult menus a lot of meals come with fries and
there is no mention of another option like fruit or side salad. I am
not a big fan of fries, are there any other options? Has anyone
else had this problem? TIA

Many CS restaurants will let you substitute carrot sticks. Cash guests can "de-combo" and order the burger without fries, even though that option isn't listed on the menu. I don't think you save a lot of $.

I substitute for grapes or carrot sticks

I usually request grapes or carrots too and I've never had a problem ordering this way. During our more recent trips, I have done this at Tusker House, Pecos Bill, and Cosmic Ray's and the staff have been more than accomodating, but occasionally they do grab the wrong order, so just be on the lookout and offer a gentle reminder.

I ahve done this and gotten mnay different hings as sides. At one place i even got the Mac N Cheese asa side instead. I try really hard not to eat fries.

As far as the DDP is concerned we are 3 A. In reality, we are 2 A a 15y old, and a 2y old.
I imagine if I buy a dbl ch burger basket meal (w fries, a lg drink and dessert, 1 other meal (maybe DH or DD will be in the mood for salad, or ch strips that day, also w dessert and lg drink (maybe fries, if not the entree salad) and a kids meal of mac & Ch, uncrustables, or chicken (yes, I know its cold) w grapes, carrots, and a choc milk (we wouldnt bother with the sugar free goo (I mean gel dessert)
We will have plenty to eat, if I buy an extra bun for the cheeseburger meal. esp sine dd2 is usually a non-eater.
This will cut down on our fries a bit, which we will get tired of, but not too fast, if there is honey mustard sauce or cheese available to dip (even if I have to pay)

Most of the counter service meals are baskets or combos. But you can order just the sandwich (and I do all the time). It's not on the menu but you can. You can also order anything as a side dish. Again, it's not on the printed menu but you can.

It's tough enough being behind someone in a counter service line that waits until he's up at the cashier and then starts asking his family wants they want. I can't imagine having a full and complete menu that starts out with just a burger, hot dog, and a chicken sandwich. Then the option to adding a side if you want. Then the option of getting a drink and what size. Counter service menus would turn into something like the Magic Your Way ticket options.

Thank you for everyone's help! While I am not a health nut, I just don't care for lots of greasy/fatty food...except prime rib and pizza :-)
Nice to have some healthy side alternatives.

I can see it now... what's the best combo from the menu for your money....
