No Free Park Hopper/Water Parks Deal for Us...Waaah

I'm feeling a little cranky right now.

I just got off the phone with WDW reservations and the free park hopper/water park ticket deal applies to everybody else...except us!!!! To get the deal, you have to stay in a resort hotel for a minimum of 3 nights...FW campground *excluded*.

So I'm feeling pretty bummed; I would have loved to have saved $500 on our big trip.

We've never camped at FW yet...I'm hoping the fun of being in the campground will help me feel better about the $500 I didn't get to save.

My TA told me this the other day. Seems like the campsites get left out of all the deals. No free dining and now this. At least I have a AAA discount for May.

The biggest reason FW seldom sees any of these special is because they are designed to help fill empty "rooms" during slow seasons. Unfortunatly FW rarely has a slow season, so no reason to offer specials.

That does stink! Of course Disney has no problem booking Fort Wilderness so they don't need to add any bonuses to it, but it would be nice.

I called Disney about this yesterday and she told me it does apply to cabins but not to campsites. Since we are taking the motorhome it didn't help us either.

Yeah, I understand the business side of it, but from a personal standpoint, I'm still bummed! I keep trying to figure out a way to get in on the deal (should I book a room/tickets at a value while actually staying "room only" at FW?), but I haven't been able to make it work out yet. I must be having a slow day; usually it doesn't take me this long!

Oh, well, maybe after they open Ft. Luxury for the high end campers there will be more discounts at FW for the rest of us!

Sorry, that was my personal joke. Meaning that if the rumors come true and Disney builds a new high-end RV park (which I jokingly called "Ft. Luxury"), maybe there will be more openings at FW for the rest of us and we can get in on some of the discounts, too!
