No FP+ for A:FOP at 60 days

I am going for the same dates! It makes me angry because people go for weeks at a time and do the same ride for multiple days! To prevent this, you should have to book each day at 60 days out because that way its fair game.

I also think its a tell tale sign of how crowded October is going to be! EEK! I think this will be our last october time frame trip for a very long time.

I couldn't get one at my 60 days for my September trip either, but then a couple of weeks later I was able to find one in the evening. I assume they released more. I would keep checking, you never know!

We went last October and it was so much crazier than previous Octobers. I would prepare! We're trying early September this year instead -- no more Octobers for us, I'm afraid.

We went Last October the 1st week of the month. this year we are hoping the last week be a little less crowded but i don't have my hopes up. If i can just get one FP to FOP I will be happy. I'm just gonna shoot for the last day of my trip for it first.

We went the last week of October last year and it was crowded but manageable. I would say it was in the moderate to heavy moderate range. Good luck!

We are going October 6-15. I couldn't get any for Oct. 8 but I did manage to get one for Oct. 13. As of early yesterday morning (before 7 am), TP reported there were still some afternoon passes on Oct. 8. I'm guessing those were all taken by those whose window opened yesterday.

But Disney giving the higher resort tiers preference would be a whole other can of worms, both logistically and in terms of the probably bad press they would get.

I don't know. Disney cruise line does this and sailing concierge is essentially the only way to get a cabana. I could see it happening without significant outrage from the general public (outrage here for sure, but outside of the fanatics not many would bat an eye). After all, it's the way the entire world works.

Pandora has extended hours from 10 PM until 12 AM on Sunday, October 8. This is for resort guests only. Any clue on what standby times look like at night?

The posted hours for that day only say it's open until 7:30. Where does it say the extended hours?

It's been a problem for everyone booking trips less than 5 days or longer, not just October dates.

People making fast passes for the beginning of October seemed to be having better luck - right now may be close to Columbus day and the middle two weeks of October are the worst. If you are going towards the end, your luck may be better.

I have to make them for 5 of us, I'm going to try for it on day 7 of our trip - will be the first fast pass I make!

You know what? It was there yesterday, but I just checked and, sure enough, those hours have disappeared. Hmmm.

And keep trying! I have a FP for FoP booked midway through my trip. Earlier in the trip I have another AK day with a Navi River FP. On the Navi day, I plan to check out the test seat. If I don't fit in the test seat for any reason (I have long legs among other things) then I will be canceling the FOP FP a day or two before I am supposed to ride. There may be others going through the same concerns. I figured I would rather try the test seat on a day I didn't plan to do the ride anyway - kind of take the pressure off a little.

How hard is it to get on FOP without fastpass+? I would just like some glimmer of hope that it would be possible to ride FOP before noon if we run to/wait in stand-by.

I tried @ 60 days and they were all gone @7:01am. We will be in AK on a weekday in September with early morning Extra Magic Hours . . . I haven't been to Disneyworld since Mickey turned 60 in 1988 . . . I've been waiting and saving up for a LONG time to finally go.

Also, does anyone know how long it takes to get to AK Lodge from AK? (We have dinner reservation at Boma on AK day).

When people are saying they tried at 60 days... just making sure everyone knows you can 60 days plus length of onsite stay, right? When I booked FOP, at 64 days I could get FOP essentially anytime. That was for late august. By all accounts, this October/November will be crazy crowded.

As others said, make your AK date as late in your trip as possible. And do that day first when 60 days from your check-in date.

Well, we arrived at AK at 8:50 for a 9:30 a.m. tour. It was EMH, so only resort guests were in the park. My son is autistic, so I swung through Pandora to get a DAS return time so he could ride. I was given a return time of 12:40 p.m., which means the standby line was already at 220 minutes less than one hour with only resort guests in the park! I walked the back path from Pandora to Africa. The standby line was from the FOP entry to nearly the Festival of the Lion King theater and back into Pandora. Crazy!

At one point, the standby time during our trip was at 325 minutes!

As far as transportation from AK to AKL, it's the shortest run in all the World. AKL is literally next door to AK. When the bus departs, it's at Kidani Village in less than five minutes. You'll need to get off at the second stop -- Jambo House -- which is an additional three minutes. AK to AKL buses arrive very frequently due to the proximity. We have stayed at AKL a few times. I don't think we ever waited at the AK bus stop more than 10 minutes.

NO WAY! everyone has different work schedules. I work 2nd shift and setting my alarm to make FP at 6 am my time (when I didn't get to sleep until 2 or 3 am) is more than just an inconvenience. to have to do it for days in a row is ridiculous.. staying on site has it's perks, as it should. this is just like the ADRS anyone can book them at 180 days out. but stay on site? you can book them at 180 days plus 10.. the way it is now is very fair.

Most people go to WDW for 7-10 days. And it takes that long to do (almost) everything you want. I haven't heard of many people going for weeks!

We are going for ten days at the end of October. I don't expect to get more than one or two FPs for FOP (if that!) We certainly won't be riding it over and over.

In reference to the bolded above...we are checking in on Oct. 22, and staying onsite for ten days. Does that mean our FP+ window actually opens on August 12??

Your 60 day FP window opens 8/23. On that date, you can book FPs for every day in your stay.

The FP window opens at 60 days before the start of your trip. The size of the window opening is for the length of your onsite stay, split stays included (all onsite) with a maximum of 14 days.

Disney provides many options for FP+ at Animal Kingdom. If your #1 choice isn't available please consider booking a FP+ for these great attractions:

Primeval Whirl
It's Tough to be a Bug
Festival of the Lion King
Finding Nemo Musical
Adventurer's Outpost
