Okay, I want hardwood floors....but I really wanted to go to WDW too. I called Newark airport a month ago and I knew flights were getting filled up. But....I waited. Now I can't get a flight out of Newark or Philly!!! The only flights available are for 5 days...like a Friday night to a very early Saturday morning and this is a connecting flight. There are absolutely no non stops available For Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Jersey Week (Oct 29 - Nov 7) You use 2 days of vacation this way!! I didn't want to do this. There are NO reasonable flight times or days available.

Question: Do seats become available as the day of departure gets closer? Do airlines add planes? Do people cancel reservations? Should I bother to continue to call every once in awhile to see if there is availability? Or should I just enjoy getting hardwood floors?

I'm depressed. Anyone have any opinions??
Thanks!

Hardwood floors are great.
If you depart from Atlantic City, you can get reasonable 1 stop flights now for Friday 10/29 and returning on 11/7on Delta through CVG.
If you want a non stop on Spirit, it is available.

Also, PHL to MCO and return nonstop on US Air is available 10/29 returning 11/7.

Also, Newark to Tampa nonstop on Continental is available those days at convenient times.

Finally, Philly to Tampa nonstop on Air Tran and US Air is available those days at convenient times.

Check it out and still get the hardwood floors.

is there a reason that you have to fly out of newark? we have flown on spirit airlines out of atlantic city and it cost 510 for my husband myself and our 8 year old. that was last october. maybe try their website...www.spiritair.com they really have great rates we were driving from northern ocean county so it's not too far for you. good luck. barbara

Fly into Tampa....now that's an idea. Maybe do Busch Gardens for 1 day. I'll try calling on that. We only want to fly out of Philly or Newark. The other airports are just too inconvenient.

Now for the hardwood floors....maybe I could get those too. Braces can wait! too! Disney can't:teeth:

Thanks everyone!

Found non-stop flights on Song (Delta) Newark to Orlando via flysong.com

I don't think airlines add flights on the spur of the moment. I have noticed that for dates that do sell out, a few seats come available every now and then over the months up to flight time.

So if you want to check back every week or so you are not permanently out of luck.

I went to the Delta site and plugged in your dates, and they have plenty of seats available on Song (operated by Delta). They are not cheap - the flights with connections are $272/person RT, and the non-stop is $551/person RT:scared1:

You can play around with the dates to see if you can do any better. But I don't know why Newark airport was saying there were NO seats available! Maybe they meant none that anyone could afford!

Sorry, I didn't tell you the whole story. There are some flights on continental and delta out of Newark. BUT, the prices are unbelievable!! 2 Weeks ago US air (out of Philly) was $176.50 RT and Continental (out of Newark) was $565.00 RT. I think the airlines out of Newark are really capitalizing on the fact that all of NJ goes to Florida the 1st week of November.

Thanks for the Disney Hints Seashore CM!
