NO Flash photography!! A Mom and Daughter(s) TR Sep 20010 update 12/6 link to PTR

Mon Sep 20th End

We ended the night with a ride on SSE with Kathy and Mark, said our goodbyes and headed to catch a bus back to CSR. We arrived and headed back to the room. The painting had now moved to the railing in fron of our room. I have asthma so was not to happy about that. Mousekeeping had come but had done a "hasty" job. I tried to leave the room pretty neat but there were a few things scattered around. They remained that way as well as the bathroom still had the dirty towels in it. The towels we used already since MK didn't come the day before-which was my choice. At this point I just really felt done with CSR. There were no huge issues just many little ones that had piled up. I called down to the front desk to ask about a transfer. The person told me that I needed to speak to someone in concierge. I asked how long someone would be there and they said for awhile longer. We headed down there. I stood in line at the concierge desk and waited. When i got to the front the CM there said they could not help me and I should go to the front desk. A little frustrated I went over. Waited a little bit and got the same CM I checked in with. I told him that I wanted to transfer. He got a little flustered and asked a manager. She was on the phone but managed to tell me in a pretty nasty tone " I can do nothing for you here, you need to call central reservations" and shoved a phone at me. I was a little stunned at this point. I called and got the recorded lady who asked a millon questions. I answered them and was promptly disconnected. By now I was beyond frustrated so I grabbed the kids and left.
The kids had wanted to swim in the quiet pool but for some reason it closed early. We went back to the room and the girls got in the tub. I called the Hubby and told him what happened. I then called central reservations back and got the nicest CM. I explained very calmly-why I called Hubby firs-t what my issue was. He was shocked that they would not help me at CSR but said it in a PC CM way :love: He asked me where I wanted to transfer to and I said the CR. We had MNSSHP the next night and I thought staying on the monorail would be fun. He found me an AP rate and booked it. He told me I would need to go to the front desk and tell them in the am. that way they could credit what I paid for CSR to the CR ressie. He was very nice and apologized for my not so magical experience. Got the kiddos out of the tub and we all went to bed.
Next am we packed up the room and went to have bkfst at the PM. It was ok but I was nervous about having to talk to the front desk people. I wen to the desk and told them of my transfer. I also told them that I wanted the $$ I paid for CSR to be credited to my new ressie. There was much whispering,phone calling etc. I told them I had come over last night and spoken with a not so magical CM. They told me it would take awhile and I could wait.
I went and sat with the kiddos and watched a show. About 20 min later a CM from the finance dept came over and told me I was all set. I thanked her.
At no time did anyone ever ask me why I was transferring which I found interesting.
We went back to the room and called bell services to transfer our luggage. They said it would not arrive until late aft so i was a little nervous about getting to MNSSHP on time. He came soon after and we made our way to the bus. We decided to head over to the CR since we had our carry ons and stuff. We took the MK bus and then the monorail to CR-wanted to arrive in style....
Went down to the counter to check in. We were in the garden wing and our room was ready!! Whooo Hooo. Now for the bad news. Since I had to create a new ressie the old one expired at midnight that night. As did ALL our dining credits. Which we had MANY. I asked to speak to someone to try and change that but no go. I was pretty sad. The snack credits I could figure out but we had a ton of CS meals-we were on the QSDP.
We went and found our room and it was gorgeous. It also had this great smell. Kinda like cinnamon. I did not take pics-sorry. We went and grabbed lunch and a bunch of snacks at the Contempo Cafe. They also let me use CS credits to create a bkfst combo. Cereal, milk and juice. The girls then hit the pool. Had a fun time playing games with the CM's and going down the slide. After we went back to the room for naps. Set up each girl in one of those comfy beds. They were out soon and slept for almost 3 hours, even Avery!!! I called bell services around 4p and they brought our luggage.

Oh Mary, What a horrible, awful, frustrating experience!! I feel so bad that you had perpetual run-around!! UGH~

I do hope in your next post, you tell us that your credits- ALL OF THEM- get transferred to your CR room.

Glad you liked your new place, and I'll bet that 3 hour nap gave you just the rest you needed for the party.
 

Wow! I'm shocked to hear that they were not magical to you at CSR. My friend works at concierge. I'll be sure to pass all that along to her! I'm glad you found more magical accomodations. Did you try to go to Guest Relations to have the credits reinstated?? I know for a fact that you can add credits to your DDP. The one year, we had ours taken off and then there was an issue with the bill and fruity drinks that weren't on the DDP at Captains Grill and they took off 2 credits and then added 2 back on for the trouble. I'm sure that's not done all of the time but I feel terrible that, that was horrible.

In Oct when I was there, I will agree that I've had better Mousekeeping at WL and even POP. I'm not sure if it's because the area is much larger but that shouldn't be an excuse! I hope the party was fun!

It was frustrating to say the least :sad2:

I guess I should have clarified, we did get all of our CSR credits though the end of our first stay there-just had to use them by midnight...

The rest was nice

Oh boy, hope they did not have video of me....I did not go to GR. We still had the credits and then got new ones the next day for our CR stay. I was a little shocked at the quality of MoK
 
Just to clarify cause I think it is a little confusing. When we left CSR we had
17 CS credits and 16 snacks. We did not lose those just had to use them by midnight. When we checked in to CR we were given 2 nights worth of CS and snacks per the QS dining plan. No credits were lost-just the time to eat them. Some folks benefitted from that at the MK that night :)

I hope that helps future situations like this. I don't guess we'll ever forget the 'snotty' tone with which the food court CM talked to us the time we had breakfast there. Very un-Disney-like. I know there are many who have a sincere dedication to this resort, and I am sure they hope everyone who visits there always has the best experience. We feel that way about Pop Century - we like it, and when we hear others are going there, we hope that all the CM's and the resort itself come together to make their visits wonderful.

You would think that the CMs at the front desk would be a little more accommodating? I hope your CS credits didn't go to waste... and by the sound of your 'clarification' they didn't! LOL

Did you end up loosing out of any credits when it was all said & done?

What's up with no clean towels? I gotta have changed towels everyday! That's so cool that you got to stay at CR. I would love to stay there!

Mary, you know how I feel about this and how awful I feel. I'm just so happy that you were able to move and that the rest of your resort stay was good. We had the opposite experience...our last two visits at the CR many years ago we had really horrid CM's. It just goes to show it, unfortunately, that it happens at ever resort (although it shouldn't happen at any of them).

I hope that helps future situations like this. I don't guess we'll ever forget the 'snotty' tone with which the food court CM talked to us the time we had breakfast there. Very un-Disney-like. I know there are many who have a sincere dedication to this resort, and I am sure they hope everyone who visits there always has the best experience. MeMom, you are so right. It distresses me when I read that someone had to deal with a rude CM at the CSR (or any resort for that matter). It breaks my heart, especially when we've had nine outstanding visits.

Oh man, I was afraid your last sentence would hold something awful and it certainly did. I hated to read about the painting, virtually non-existent mousekeeping and the rude CMs. There's no call for rudeness no matter which resort you choose to stay in.

I'm hoping that you're going to post that your counter service credits magically reappeared and that you didn't lose them all.
 
Even though we knew all about your horrid experience, it made me mad all over again when I read it! I hope all is well and Jasmine said to give the girls hugs from her!
 
We went the opposite Contemporary to CSR. Never recovered. The Contemporary staff was top notch, we loved our stay there. CSR, not so much. So sorry about all the trouble!
 
so sorry you guys had such a terrible experience all the way around at CSR; hoping to hear that the rest of your stay was magical and to be on the monorail line should have made for smoother travels....can't wait to hear how you spread a little magic with your dining credits...

I wish our stay was more magical. They do seem to have some dedicated people working there. We hope our short stay at POP is just as wonderful as the times you have spent there.Both were awesome

it was not the best time. Kathy was very :sad2: She really wanted us to have a great time. I was hoping for a little more help from them. Some of them did sadly. We did lose some credits as much as i tried to give them away.
