No fireworks?

Looking at the calendar for the beginning of September it look like there will not be fireworks. No wishes at MK and it looks like no Star Wars fireworks at AK?

Too soon to tell. These events can (and usually are) added at a later date. Not as soon as Park Hours are released.

Probably a misprint, but Star Wars fireworks are at DHS. RoL will be at AK.

There will be fireworks. It's way too far out for anything then to be set in stone. Wishes is done every night at MK

I'd be shocked if they weren't added. But Disney continues to surprise me, so I find myself wondering.

The fact that they are scheduled up to Sept. 4th, and then again from Sept. 24th, makes me think it's not an an error.

I do hope they add it back, cause I'll be there during that time, but I'm not gonna plan on it for now.

Same exact thought here.
I'd never think WDW would not do Wishes and Illuminations nightly. But fireworks are VERY expensive to put on. If they truly do need to cut costs in park operations that would be a way to do it.
So now I'm not as certain as I would have been that they'll be nightly.

I agree that cutting out fireworks is a quick and relatively easy thing to cut, although the guest impact is high so it's risky. I can't imagine they would cut it completely though, I think having a few nights off a week seems more likely. Although, I would think all shows would have this happen, not just Wishes, yet I'm not seeing any other cancellations. The other thing that is really confusing me is the Sept 24th date with MSEP & Wishes scheduled with nothing the few weeks leading up to and nothing the week after, seems kinda random.

A pp mentioned waiting on finalizing the MNSSHP first and then filling the Wishes info in - that seems like pretty good reasoning to me. If I look at Sept 2nd, which is the Friday before the long weekend, there is on way the park will be closed at 7pm and not have Wishes. We're always there that weekend and that is always a later closing night, it was 10pm last year (in fact every night leading up to Labour Day got extended to 10pm last year). So if a party doesn't show up on that date, then for sure I expect to see the hours extended and Wishes added back in.

Does anyone know when the party dates normally get announced?

What entered my mind was could they decide to do Hallo-Wishes and have no regular Wishes on non-party nights.
Or maybe just regular Wishes on non-party Weekend Nights.
That would keep some fireworks, cut costs AND entice some to purchase party tickets when they may otherwise skip the party.

I think that would be the worst approach. Then it looks like they are strong arming people into buying party tickets. That definitely would not be cool and really raises the level of guest outrage.

It is odd. While I can't imagine them not adding them and I certainly hope they do, we've been going to Disney in Sept. for almost 10 yrs. now and we've never had a Wishes not scheduled when the calendar came out originally, so it's def. different.

There were delays in posting the usual hours and events months before Jan.-Feb. of 2016

Maybe they should just make every night a party night in MK from September to November.

Kidding of course, but I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

If they cut any fireworks then I think it's safe to say that something just may be wrong with the execs running this company. They are reporting record profit quarters and attendance and they are going to make that major of a cut? To take away wishes!? Idc if its just for a day or two. They have to be out their mind

Oh no, I didn't mean for other months etc., that could def. be the case. I was just speaking of September hours and Wishes specifically - every year the first calendars have always shown Wishes showing every night (other than for special events) right off the bat, so I just meant that I think it is odd that it's not showing and different than previous September calendar years.

I was trying to point out that there have been multiple odd posting delays as of late.

Makes it hard to really plan ahead when you have to make ADRs 180 days in advance. Crossing my fingers we can get a better idea of what is to come in Sept.

I admit to freaking out when I saw that on the hours. Hopefully it's just a scheduling problem :)
