i just returened from a confrence in orlando & my wonderful boss treated us to a day @ magic kingdom w/ dinner @ CRT, i wanted to let you all know that the windows are being referb & they had the curtains closed, i asked when they would be done with the referb i was told sometime in june. since the curtains are closed they do not dim the lights or pipe in the wishes music. since you couldn't see out the windows & w/o the music it sounded like the castle was under attack:confused3

thanks for the info! I just made an ADR for late march.

Last week, we happened to finish CRT around 8pm. We had watched Wishes the evening before, so really hadn't planned on watching it that evening. And since all the windows were covered up inside the castle, there was no point in staying longer so we left. As we exited the receptionist area for CRT, we were pleasantly greeted with a different type of view for Wishes with the carousel as our background. Even though we couldn't see all of the fireworks, we enjoyed the view, and stood there and watched the entire show. Here's a pic of what we saw.

Oh my, that is lovely the way the fireworks are over the carousel from that vantage!

Disney does have a note about the rehab up on the web site when you go to book CRT, so at least they're warning people well in advance that the view won't be what it normally is.

I'm sorry you weren't able to see the fireworks while you were dining. We had dinner there in December and seeing them through the stained glass windows did make dining there more memorable. Some of the fireworks were loud so without seeing them I could imagine that it would sound like the castle was under seige. :)

What a beautiful picture!

Yah, it's been posted on the WDW site for a while now:
Reservations from Jan 11 - June 30, 2011: Due to a refurbishment of portions of the back side of Cinderella Castle taking place, elements of the restaurant will be refurbished and there will be themed window coverings that will not detract from your experience, but will block the view into Fantasyland.
