No Festival Snacks at EPCOT Moonlight Magic

Just a heads up that festival booths owned by the country don't count fir vouchers. That includes Mexico and a few others. And please be patient with the cast members, apparently some of them weren't given much training/warning about Moonlight Magic tonight.

Also, there is a special fireworks show at 11!

We checked in right at 5pm. Rode Guardians and then used our snack vouchers. You couldn’t use them until 6:30pm. We got some good snacks and the info about what was available wasn’t 100% comprehensive but sure was helpful. From 6:30 until around 7:15, crowds and snack-venue lines were fine but the lines exploded around 7:30-8pm.

We were eligible for EEH at MK and were torn between staying at MM (where we wanted to ride Guardians again, plus Frozen for the first time (ever!) and Ratatouille. Vs going to the MK. From reading about it, I had more confidence in short lines at MK. We were happy with that choice, as we got to ride Pirates, HM, Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs, Teacups, Barnstormer and Tron in a 90 min span.

We didn’t realize there was special fireworks. It might have been listed in the pamphlet we were given and didn’t notice it. That would have likely tipped us into staying for Moonlight Magic, had we realized. We were literally 50-50 on going vs staying. We have only been to MM at DCA (used to live in LA) and have found it often to be somewhat disorganized. This event seemed more organized and I am looking forward to hearing reports.

We wound up getting onion rings and Mac cheese at American Pavilion, a mango chili fruit parfait at Refreshment Outpost which was huge, a cinnamon roll at Kringala, maple popcorn, and soft serve ice cream cone.

The part we experienced was nice, I’m looking forward to hearing reports.

We ended up getting everything we wanted at the festival free with our vouchers! I think we hit 4 different booths between the 2 of us--using our total of 6 vouchers. It was a full dinner for us (plus the mimosa I bought). Throwing in the Mickey bars we got an hour later, it was actually a decent amount of food. Because so many things at the booth counted as the "Snack" credits you could use the vouchers for, there were a lot of bigger items like the jerk chicken with rice and plantains. I'm not a dainty eater and it was a nice sized portion!

I actually think the food vouchers made the event the most useful to us. We figured that it ended up saving the 2 of us about a total of $35 in what we would have spent on dinner.

Honestly I made a thread about it but they should kill Moonlight all together and reallocate those funds to something they can do more often such as snack credits and LL passes after 8pm or something and do it every week on a specific night.

It was fun going to MM at AK but at the same time a vast majority will never attend MM and I am not a fan of that.
I would be in favor of this. We have been lucky enough to go to two MM events and I'm honestly not sure i would try for a third. They get so busy, the food lines are nuts, the ride lines aren't much better, and we don't care about characters at all.

We had a better experience at extended evening hours. Granted, you have to buy a park ticket for that and MM is free but still.

The Moonlight Magic at Epcot this year was by far the best we have ever done. The only Moonlight Magic we haven’t done is Typhoon Lagoon and going to try for that one this year. Animal Kingdom last year was good. For us, the worst was DCA park this year.

What made this one so great? We will be trying for the Epcot MM on July 17 and I'm curious to hear what the best things were.

So far my favorite MM was at MK, but this was back in 2016 or 2017 back when they gave you the full meal certificates, and they had an amazing DVC fireworks display at midnight (and you were allowed up to 8 people).

I did not love the AK one last year, the DCA one was good for us since we never go to CA so everything was new. But another great one was typhoon lagoon, which was our first ever time at a disney waterpark.

Some comments about Wednesday’s MM at Epcot…
- snack items at most festival booths were included, contrary to the info pre-event (see pics below)
- fireworks were great, no projections just actual fireworks for a change
- lines for the bigger rides were long, but not as long as the posted wait times
- Connections Eatery was giving out ice cream instead of being open for food sales, with much shorter lines than the nearby snack cart
- different snack carts had different ice cream - had Mickey head bars, ice cream sandwiches and strawberry bars from different locations

I’m not sure “online rumor” is how I would describe an email sent by Disney 48hr in advance of the event to registrants that stated snack vouchers could not be used at Festival Booths!

Fixed it. Didn’t get the email, so didn’t realize the pre-event info actually came from Disney

All the cast members were very friendly. The food choices at the food booths were great. The special fireworks were also a special touch. Hoping to get to do Typhoon Lagoon. I would recommend going in as early as you can.

Does anyone have a picture of the entire map for EP MM? I'm looking for a list of all character M&G for the night.

You're lucky you got in at all. I just waited 5 hours and 20 minutes online for the Sept. 1 2025 event for guests staying on property only to be informed that it was now full. Ridiculous.

Wow! Did they estimate the queue to be that long when you first entered it? I wonder if that one is a more popular date than the last one?

I first entered at 7am. It didn't open until 11am. At 11am said I'd be transferred to the registration site. Eventually it said 30 minute wait but it kept changing to "paused". Another hour and 20 minutes later it said 2 minutes but it also then said the event was full.

I'm quite certain that many who did get in didn't get in line until well after 7am.

And that's by design. The queue is not ordered by when people got in line prior to 11AM; it is randomized. From the Moonlight Magic web site (emphasis added):

To enter the virtual waiting room, an eligible Member number must be entered. This process secures your Membership a random place in line.

Registration doesn't open until 11:00 am Eastern. Even if you click the link at 2 am, there's zero reason to even look at the computer until 11. Nothing is going to happen, for anyone, until 11 am.
