Hi! :wave2:

I have no favorite CS places at all! :confused3 I need help from you all, because you guys are the greatest!

I would like to know your favorite counter service locations in each park, please. TIA

Me too! Most of the counter service places sound gross, except Tusker House and Earl of Sandwich. I think I'll use my CS allotment for the bakeries: Main Street and the one in France. Can anyone tell me what you get for CS at those locations?

MK - Cosmic Rays
AK - Flame Tree BBQ
Epcot - Electric Umbrella (although I'm dying to try Tangeriene Cafe....got DS a kids chicken tender meal there last year as we had the counter service in Japan that he wouldn't touch and the food looked really yummy)
MGM - The little area like a market heading toward Fantasmic where you can get hamburgers, hotdogs, turkey legs etc. from several different counters.

MK:
(1) Columbia Harbor House
(2) Cosmic Rays -- we like the show
(3) Peco's Bills -- for the "fixin's bar"

Epcot:
(1) Yakitori House
(2) Tangerine Cafe
(3) Lotus Blossom Cafe for egg rolls :).

MGM:
(1) Back Lot Express
(2) We think MGM is a wasteland of terrible CS meals ...

AK:
(1) Flame Tree BBQ
(2) Tusker House -- These two flip-flop for our "favorite" spot all the time.

My favorites--

MK: Pecos Bill has great burgers
AK: Tusker House has excellent chicken and a turkey wrap (heard salmon is great too)
MGM: Backlot Express had a yummy grilled turkey sandwich
Epcot: Yakitori House is fantastic. We get the Tonosama Combo
DTD: Earl of Sandwich has excellent sandwiches

I usually avoid counter service at the parks unless I am totally famished. Your best bet is to follow the Unofficial Guide's recommendations.

My experience long ago is that I didn't like the MK Plaza, but I did like the ice cream shop. At Epcot it is easier--the Land Pavillion has a big food court which was always fine, and several of the World Showcase pavillions have counter service. If price is no object I'd hit the Norway takeout or fish and chips at the UK pavillion. I didn't like the San Angel catina, service was slow and it's all outdoors which can be miserable (and bee-filled) on a hot day. At MGM the Backlot Express is fine. Hollywood and Vine is okay too but plenty expensive.

Anyone remember when Crystal Palace was a quiet cafeteria with no character meals? That was a nice location.

Anyone remember the Soundstage restaurant and Catwalk bar in MGM? What an ugly location!

Our favorites:

MK- Cosmic Rays
Columbia harbour House

AK- Flame Tree
Pizzafari

DS- Pizza Planet

EP- Yorkshire fish Co

My Favorites:

MK - Columbia Harbor House, El Pirata Y Perico
Epcot - Tangerine Cafe, Yakatori House
MGM - Blech, although I am hopeful for the new Studio Catering Co.
AK - Tusker House, Flame Tree BBQ
Resorts - Pepper Market
DTD - Earl of Sandwich & Wolfgang Puck Express

I probably should have specified . . . On this trip, it's me and a 12-year-old (semi-picky) girl. We will have the free dining and are going Oct 4-9.

Columbia Harbor House - MK
Flame Tree or Husker House - AK
MGM - None
EPcot - French Bakery
DTD - Earl of Sandwich

The only CS that we ALWAYS do is Cosmic Ray's at the MK. DH loves the chicken, and I love Ray!

Epcot - Yakatori House, Norway and France for baked goods
DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich
We've never done a counter service at MK or MGM.

Flame Tree BBQ at AK is very good. My favorite is the food court at Pop Century! Love the Very Sloppy Joes. How could I forget, Main Street Bakery MK!

My fave is Tangerine Cafe, though most of the counter in WS are great (EXCEPT Mexico - ICK!). All at Epcot. We ate our way around the world last visit and tasted lots of great stuff.

I have never eaten at AK (skip that park after one visit), MK is unmemorable, and MGM is terrible! We leave and eat at a resort there or eat table service.

Our favorites are Pecos Bills at MK and Flame Tree at AK. Flame Tree is a really good value for the price and Pecos Bills has a great fixins bar.

MK Pecos Bills...Chili Cheese Fries....YUMMY
AK Flame Tree
MGM not even if it was free
Epcot to many good table service places for me to have tried couter service

I'm looking foward to trying the new plaza noodle station in MK. Pad Thai, yummmm. I hope it's good. Has anyone tried this place?

Hasn't the Land Pavillion changed now? I read the menu on allears.net and it was really different from what I remember.

We ate counter service for ALL of our meals except for one character dinner and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue (plus we ate most breakfasts in our room, and brown-bagged lunch one day). We ate several meals at CBR's food court, which I was pretty impressed with. Our other highlights:

MK: Cosmic Ray's -- pretty wide selection; Columbia Harbor House -- a nice break from burgers

Epcot: didn't buy food there (so sad -- we skipped World Showcase)

AK: no recommendation -- in-laws insisted on Restaurantosaurs due to its location, but YUK! The MENU at Tusker House looked really good.

MGM: Backlot Express

DTD: Our very best counter service meal, Wolfgang Puck Express. Sorry I found it on our last day!
