OMG, I just checked the DL calendar and there is no F! scheduled on the first week of the month! :scared1: Have they discontinued showing F! in the winter months? When did this change take place?:confused3

January 4th is the last day of DLR's holiday season. I would expect that F! would be shown the 1st through the 4th (even though it's not listed on the calendar yet). After that F! will be going under refurbishment again to add the new technology they are working on. I wouldn't expect to see it after that until Spring Break period.

HTH.

Thanks Dangermouse. I was shocked that it wasn't showing up on DL website. I hope they have it. I'm crossing my fingers...

Well, we are getting there the 10th and then going on ABD Backstage Magic and won't get to see it :(

This was the last solid news I have had on Fantasmic : From what I know they will shut it down again in March. Any new news would be appreciated.--

Fantasmic! will be getting new HD projectors during its refurbishment this fall, that will vastly improve the clarity of the videos projected on the mist screens. Apparently these new projectors will be used on a much grander scale with World of Color when it debuts late 2009/early 2010. Also coming to Fantasmic! will be Flotsam & Jetsam from the Little Mermaid jetting around on jet skis during the Ursula section of the show. They will be 7ft tall, & 33ft long. Also, this January & February, Fantasmic! will be performed 7 nights a week due to Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams not showing due to the re-paving of Main Street.

OK. After doing a thorough check on the internet- I came up with this, on mice chat- wht with the election and all, I somehow missed Darbeers Monday update :

While not Christmas, the popular Fantasmic! returns from a 2 month hiatus on Friday the 7th, which will bring in extra locals to see the show. And note, Fantasmic! will be on a daily basis until after Thanksgiving, partly due to the holidays, but also due to the changeover in Parades and some work scheduled on the parade route between the 12th and the 20th. So one big hint, if you are a local, check out a weekday showing between the 12th and the 20th to find light crowds for the show!

This is great news for me as it looks like it'll be back up most likely for spring break if they moved up the refurb.

So does this mean they'll be showing it through the Christmas Holidays in January? :confused3 I'm debating going the first week of January vs. the 2nd week. Normally we go the first week, but due to work schedule changes I wasn't sure I would be able to go the first week, so I put off buying our airfare. Of course, it's ridiculously overpriced now to fly out Jan 1, so that's why I need to know. (And I can't leave any sooner than Jan1.) :sad2: If they aren't showing F! the first week, then I could live with saving an extra $300 per person by waiting to go the following week and just do w/out the holiday decor. Help please...I need to decide soon.
Thanks!

DangerMouse, when do they usually update the DL schedule? It seems rather late for the first week of January. They are already showing the parades and fireworks, etc., so I'm concerned the won't be showing it this coming January.

Y'know I am just really confused about Fantasmic now-- I wish we would get some sort of update- but it really is too far out I think. Yes it will run in Dec-- just not every day. It was scheduled to run every day in Jan and Feb because of a parade being down to work on the tracks, but it looks like that is being worked on sooner now. I know it is supposed to go down for a good period of time to do the second additions with Flotsam and Jetsom and to make the dragon bigger. I'm thinking now they are starting that refurb in January. Hopefully they will have it back up for spring break.

Thanks 50sjayne...

I heard the thing about the parade too, but the schedule at Disney.com shows neither..I had to make my ADRs so guess I will have to try and change them if they schedule a parade that runs into my dining times...

It's just so frustrating! :confused3 Don't the Disney powers that be realize that we need current updated information so we can better plan our trips?:lmao: I'm frustrated but trying to keep my sense of humor here. Would be nice if someone knew some inside info and posted it...Or if DL would update the calendar or put F! in the rehab list since it's not showing up under entertainment.:rolleyes1 Do something....anything... so we're not left hanging...
