Where is someplace my DH and I can go to get away from the gang one night by ourselves that will be romantic. We are not fancy shmancy people and don't need to spend an arm and a leg on an expensive meal (we're not real into that type of thing). But I was wondering where is someplace we could go that would be truely memorable. Even if it is for dessert and then a stroll or a carriage ride or something? Money is really not an issue. I'm not afraid to spend a bit on something, but a real fancy "10 course meal" is not our type of thing.

How about one of the Boardwalk restaurants, Spoodles or Flying Fish? Then after dinner a lovely romantic stroll around the lake. DH and I really enjoy that.

Another vote for Spoodles or Flying Fish. They are nice, but definitely not overly fancy. And the big plus is strolling around the Boardwalk after dinner - that's one of our very favorite things to do!

Try the California Grill! They have excellent food! The service is outstanding and you cannot beat the atmosphere at night with an amazing view of Cindy's castle changing colors. If you are lucky, you may even get a window seat and be able to watch the fireworks right from your seat! I find it very romantic and not stuffy at all!

artist point at WL or jiko at AKL. also, agree w/california grill. as far as the carriage rides, i know they do them at fort wilderness and i have read at POR, but sure if they still have them at POR.

We love going to Blue Zoo at the Dolphin and then walk over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of miniature golf!

If you're out for a romantic night, don't want food that is too fancy and don't mind wasting time away from the parks, from what I've heard Artist Pointe in the Wilderness Lodge would be an excellent choice for you. After you eat you could head over to Fort Wilderness for a carriage ride. If scheduled at the right time (and requested), the carriage driver will find a secluded spot for you to view Wishes.

DW is right in stating that CG is an excellent choice because it is just a monorail ride away from MK and offers a view of the MK that can't be matched anywhere else, but many people find CG too loud and busy, so you will want to take that into consideration.

One note about Boardwalk is that it can get pretty crowded in the evening. The atmosphere there is wonderful and romantic, but if you're looking for some quiet time away from people you won't find it there.

one of my favorite honeymoon experiences was at Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside. The whole feel of the resort is laid-back Southern. We really enjoyed strolling around and our meal at Boatwrights was definitely not fancy but the service was excellent and it was my husband's favorite. Afterwards we took a carriage ride around the resort. Beautiful to see the southern mansions and the bayou . . . I'd go back for that experience in a heartbeat!
