Can tickets purchased as part of a WDW vacation package be upgraded to NE option? Would the current promo tickets (1 free day with purchase of 4 or more days MYW) be eligible? If so, can you explain how to do this and how much it might cost?
TIA!

The Disney web set under tickets can calculate that for you. You pick the number of days and options. But non-expiring tickets have become very expensive over the years and may or may not be worth the cost. I think they only make sense if you buy 10 days (the max) and then use them over at least 3 or more short trips. Otherwise it may be cheaper to buy new tickets each trip.

The expiration clock on regular tickets does not start until you use them for the first time and once you do you have 14 days to use up all the days.

Ditto to this.

1- Yes.
2- Yes.
3-
If you buy a 6-day ticket, the cost to add Non-Expire would be $190.
If you buy a 7-day ticket, the cost to add Non-Expire would be $220.
If you buy an 8-day ticket, the cost to add Non-Expire would be $245.
If you buy a 9-day ticket, the cost to add Non-Expire would be $280.
If you buy a 10-day ticket, the cost to add Non-Expire would be $325.

The BAD news is, if you USE any of the days on this trip, you still must
pay the Non-Expire fee for the WHOLE ticket, even if you only have, say, 2 days LEFT on the ticket.

It is only under very specific circumstances that Non-Expiring tickets
make sound financial sense.

(All prices, plus tax.)

Thanks for the information. I'm running the numbers since we tend to go for short trips (3 days or so) every 1.5-2 years and rarely do more than 2-3 parks at a time (DH can't handle more than that at one time ROTFL). Tickets are the biggest expense of our trips and the buy in for less than 4 days is pretty steep. Trying to find ways to make Dis more affordable. Any advice welcome :)

You are definitely on the right tack then. Here is a link to WDW ticket calculator:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets/

You can run the scenarios there and then add on Robo's $ amounts above for non-expriration. Looks like the n.e. tickets may work for you.

Since you are buying tickets as part of a WDW Resort Package and then upgrading them,
there is a way to do that properly and compute the exact price.

USE the package tickets at least one time to go into a theme park BEFORE you do the upgrade.
Then-
To see the price to do the upgrade, check the NEW FULL GATE PRICE of the ticket that you HAVE.
(Example, if you got a 6-day ticket plus a "free day,"
you would check the gate price of a brand new 7-day MYW ticket.)

Then, subtract that price from the NEW FULL GATE PRICE of the ticket that you WANT. (Example, 10-day MYW ticket with Non-Expiring option.)

Ticket prices are listed HERE.

When you compute the difference in the cost of the two tickets, add 6.5% FL tax and that's the full cost of the upgrade.

Yes, you will get the full NEW gate price for the ticket that you already HAVE even after you have
used at least one day of that ticket to enter a theme park.
The act of using the original ticket to go into a park will "lock" that ticket's value
at the new gate price for the purpose of the upgrade transaction.

Perfect!!! This is exactly what I need to plug into my spreadsheet.
Now if only the 1 day MK with 1 day remaining NE tickets linked to my account were real....
Thanks!

The only thing I would add: consider getting the PH and WPF&M options, it really increases the value IMO.

PH - because you can perhaps get away with using fewer days by doing more than 1 park per day. This is an extra 59$ for the whole 10 days.

WPF&M - Once you have added the PH, the WPF&M is only an extra 25$. That 25$ will get you 10 (if you have a 10-day NE ticket) entries to waterparks, DisneyQuest, mini golf, and more. Those will never expire, even if you use up all 10 park days. That's where I have gotten most of my value from my NE tickets.

Yeah - if only the "7 days remaining" on my NE were real too (should only have 1 day remaining)! But then again, MDE let me make 7 days' worth of FP+ reservations with only a 2 night stay...hmmmm...

Thanks!!
Definitely the PH and WPFM options are a huge bonus and make the NE attractive to me. Running the numbers without that diminishes the value of the NE option for us.

We live near WDW and hold AP's. Our sons do not. When we moved here 3 years ago we bought 10 day NE/WPM's for each of them so we could visit when they come. We used UT and bought the ticket with the most savings over gate price. Because they visit 2X a year and spend 2 days in the parks this has been a great deal for us. They have 10 park admissions and 10 days of water parks.

We are still on their original tickets and prices have increased 4 times. A 2 day park hopper is over $200, and we paid less that $500 for the 10 day tickets when we bought them.

NE doesn't work for everyone, but it can be a very good deal under the right circumstances.

ok..... please assist.... why can't I find any 'official info' for no expire option anymore? when pricing online, I am concerned that I will try to upgrade a ticket when I get there to a NE option, and they will not allow it.....
2nd question.... hypothetical scene....
I go thru UT with a discount link- buy a 5 day -ph-wp&m-ne options-cost is 522.00
go to park, enter, and ask to upgrade to a 10 day same options- but 10 day pass gate cost is 775.00 (? is that right?)
I am then another 53.00 to upgrade this ticket to the full 10 day NE/PH/WPM ticket?
making my total oop cost for 10 days with extras 547.00 ?
Is this right?
all advice appreciated!!!

and in addition... does the price bridging still work?

It's there.
It is only shown under certain menus.

They don't readily show the non-expire info as it was much too
confusing to guests who thought that they MUST buy non-expiring tickets
when they really did not need to do so in most cases.

The price info in the DIS Ticket sticky HERE is, in fact, a scan of the actual
WDW ticket booth price info used in the parks.

One thing.
USE your UT ticket to go into a theme park at least one time BEFORE you do the upgrade.

Otherwise, I did not check your actual NUMBERS, but you have the right
way to compute the difference.

(And, you will pay tax on the upgrade price.)

ah! thank you...this sounds scary.... new territory here.... but I could use these for 2 full trips without worrying about dates

Just make sure the cost of the n.e. options is not more than buying 2 sets of tickets separately. I have seen people comment that non-expire does not pay for itself unless you're doing 3 or more trips on the same ticket.
