No DVD player what did I miss?

I have had to call the last three trips on the first night, to have a DVD player brought up and installed.
This changed earlier this year with DVC removing DVD players from all studios. I have put in a request for my next stay in June, lets "see" if it comes through.

Let us know what happens.

My older kids enjoy watching movies in the villa. I hope DVC will keep DVD players.

Maybe Disney plans to "upgrade" the experience previously supplied by the in-room DVD players? I'm thinking out loud here ... but I envision on-Demand access to a wide selection of entertainment (movies, TV programming, games) w/out having to go down to the Community Center to check out titles?
