20 days!! So excited for you. My 2cents about mini golf. We did fantasia when my mom was with us , so I have to remind myself that certainly could have contributed to the experience . The 6 of us preferred fan to w/s land. But my mom was hysterical as she had never played before and kept hitting her ball into the water. Then didn't want to bother anyone for a new ball, so was going to go in the water for the ball. Ah no mom... There are gators in the waters. She nearly jumped out of her shorts. Lol

Yes and now down to 17 since we were away this weekend with soccer. I'll have to see if I can convince my little family to try out Fantasia.

We are 17 days from the trip and DH just walked in from UrgentCare with the FLU!!! Thank you germies for infecting us!

I felt REALLY REALLY bad last week for quite a few days but assumed it was simply a head cold. Maybe I had it too so that would mean that I'm done with it hopefully. I just hope no one else gets it before our or during our trip!

He's a miserable sick man (are they all this bad?) and needs attention constantly. He is also a grouch so this should be fun.

Well let me go check on my sick patient and I'll be back later!

Well on the plus side of having a sick one at home, I did get to stay home today to ummmm "take care of him" so I was able to fight the Disney website some more and change a few more FP+ options. That is now my boredom buster - how many times can I change it before we leave?

Oh no, the flu! Thank the Lord that it is so far ahead of time and maybe you'll be 100% for the trip. Keep him away from those kids!!! Are they old enough to take zicam or cold-eeze? Zicam fast melts have really really worked for me in the past on several occasions.

Just a heads up, be careful changing FP+ now! Looks like Epcot went to a tiered system where you can't choose Test Track and Soarin' at the same time (for example) and who knows if the other parks will follow soon so that you can't book multiple headliners. Get those FP+ finalized so you don't end up not getting what you want!

We were away all weekend at a soccer tournament when DH got sick and suddenly became Mr. Grouch. I almost posted the meme on my Facebook page about how when men get a cold, it's suddenly a man-flu. SOOOOOO glad I didn't now since it really was the flu.

He is doing better this afternoon. We have way too much to do this week for him to be sick! He's got to get better and go back to work.

Yes I was trying to get another set of Toy Story fastpasses for our off day which I'm about to type about. It didn't go well but I did end up with a TSMM fastpass so I guess I'm happy.

Changes this morning because I was bored.....I deleted all of our FP+ reservations for our first day and moved them to new rides on our "off day". We no longer have FP+ for day 1 (because the system will only give us 7 days) but I think we are safe. We are getting in late on that day anyways and we have the Christmas party. Our FP+ were at MK but I think considering it's not Thanksgiving week yet and that the park is scheduled to be not nearly as full as we are used to, we should be fine. I will attempt to use FP- on this day to ride what we want. Worse case scenario is we will hit all of our favorites that no one else likes - Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, etc.

Now onto our "off day" - this is the day we sleep in; the day we relax; on our first couple of trips it was a no park day but we just can't seem to stay away.

After breakfast/lunch and in between whatever else we feel the need to do, we will go to play putt putt. At first I had my heart set on going here



but after talking to a few people we may go here



I can't ask the boys what they want of course. I mean we've made it this far, surely no one will blow it now!

Oh speaking of blowing it. That almost happened this weekend. We were at the soccer tournament and some family had come to watch DS play. After the game we were all hanging out when MIL started to talk about how she is excited to be watching our pup during Thanksgiving week. I quickly helped change the conversation and took DS11 for a walk to talk to someone else. Crisis averted and we are back to planning!

DH decided that although we hated the food at Captain's Grille last time, that he still enjoyed the date night so we have planned another one here. Our boys will be so excited to go to the Kids' Club again on this trip (not sure which one they want yet) and we will have an early dinner here -



Why there? Why fight the DTD craziness with construction and all? Because DH wants that meal and honestly since he started requesting things, I've done my best to make them happen. I know that as long as he is enjoying Disney we can continue to go back!

Lastly this evening is EMH for HS. Something that the boys still talk about almost every day is the dance party at HS from this summer. We plan to hit HS after dinner for a few rides and then enjoy the dance party until we get too tired to go any further and we head back to the hotel.

A couple of FP+ thoughts -

We may not need an off day since we aren't going to have to get up as early each day to get those coveted FPs.

It is a pain in the rear to schedule or change ANYTHING on their site. I spent 2 hours today trying to change my rides so I first picked three brand new FPs at my new park. Then since some weren't available and some others were only available during the early parts of the day, I had to choose a best case scenario that unfortunately included F!. I don't need to see F! twice in one trip. In fact, we didn't see it at all last trip, but I took this option as it had the TSM closest to the time I really wanted it. I went in to change F! to something else and get the message that nothing else is available during that time so I tried to change the time for F! which of course you can not. Therefore I was stuck with it. I ended up having to delete the FP+ entirely to get rid of F! just to rebook three other ones at times that I did not want and hope that I could move them around. I now have 2 of my 3 during a time period where I can use them but the third slot that I want can not be filled by any ride/show in the park so we are forced to book a ride during the middle of the afternoon when I will FOR SURE not be in the park. I don't want that reservation but I can not change it to anything else or even get rid of it. I just hope that after the testing period the system works a lot better than it does right now.

Hi Bridget! I'm caught up on your plans, surprises, and getting educated on the fact that there's a limit to booking FP+ (limited to 7 days?). I've been so frustrated with getting our APs linked to our MBs that once tech support was done with that over an hour later I still couldn't book all of our FP+. Argh! I just have to think that I'm helping them in their test phase right?

AKL is simply amazing even without Christmas décor so I can imagine how lovely it will be while you are there!!

I hope your DH gets over the crud quickly.

Yes, although I'm not sure if the 7 day limit is because we only have 6 nights on site. The whole FP+ thing is super super frustrating!! I just hope that us helping them test out the system doesn't mess up our vacations in any way.

So DH was back at work Wednesday feeling great! Thank you Tamiflu!

I have been fighting a cold for about 2 weeks now, not really sick enough to go to the doctor but not really feeling well either. Yesterday, I felt really rough during the day and was pretty short tempered with my students. I figured it was just because I had been fighting the cold for so long UNTIL.....

I got home and took my temperature. It was 102 degrees. Yep so off to Urgentcare I went because of course no doctor's office is open on Friday evenings. I walked in and told them that I had the flu probably since DH had it earlier in the week. They did the test where they take a little bit of your brain on the stick to check it. After sampling my brain on a stick, they decided that I was flu-negative. Which should be a good thing right??? Except that they now have to draw blood.

Thankfully, it only took the nurse two tries to get enough blood (I have small small veins) and she only had to dig one time. I did however let her know that if the second attempt was not successful that she would NOT get a third attempt. I would go home with no diagnosis. What can I say....I was a grouch!

After all that, I have a pretty severe bacterial infection so I'm on some super strong antibiotics.

Sad thing is that I was so sick, I lost track of the countdown and had to refigure it out today. We are 11 days away!!!! YAY!!!!

I'm going to try to update on the next day later today but for now I want to go take a nap as I didn't sleep well last night! Night all!

Funny little side story to my illness.....

Sometime in the middle of the night last night, amid all of the delirium from a fever since I hurt too bad to get out of bed to get an Advil, I had some severe stabbing pains around where I presume my appendix is. I immediately imagined myself having this horrible appendectomy RIGHT before our trip and us having to cancel it. Eventually I just fell back asleep but when I awoke this morning, I grabbed my side to see if it had really happened.

Oh the things that fever and good drugs will make you think have happened.

Oh wow, what an ordeal overall. So sorry to hear that you are sick but glad that you're feeling better; boy, it's that time of year isn't it?? I can't do blood draws, they would have had to guess for me (and I DON'T have small veins, yikes ). Glad you could do it and get a real diagnosis though!

My ex (who I am still very close to) just had an emergency appendectomy on Friday, and he is feeling awesome today, so maybe it wouldn't have been too bad, if it DID happen! He's ready to go back to work and hasn't even used pain meds.
