No Dogs On the Sofa

My lab sleeps on the couch, the chairs, and the best is the bed- under the covers. She won't sleep above them, and she'll stare and nudge you until you lift up the covers for her to get under. Talk about spoiled. :dog2:

Our "no dogs on the sofa" rule lasted all of five minutes! :rotfl2:

Here's my collage of the dogs sleeping on both the couch and the comfy chair. Of course, as seen, Holly does occationally get on the floor.

When you adopt a greyhound you must have a couch available at all times. It's in their contract. How else would they have gotten (and lived up to) the nickname of "couch potato"? ;)

We have the "no dogs on the sofa" rule, too, so ours sleeps on the recliner instead!

We started out having this rule in our house when we bought our new couch but she kept getting on, my boyfriend put foil on the cushions and she never jumped on the couch with th foil but once you forget to put the foil on she is back on the couch.....ya we gave up, she won!!!

We also tried this with our bed. She has a huge doggy bed and loves it but she loves our bed more. It would be fine with me if she just sleeps on top of the comforter but no she pushes off the comforter and blanket to sleep on the sheets, crazy dog.

I am not sure our dogs have any rules. They gave us rules, but we didn't give them any. :teeth:

Well, we never even tried.
Here is Jasmine and Sprinkles as babies and they are already on the couch.
Oh well, their house too.

We did used to not allow them on the couches. Of course they got on them when we weren't home, but not when we were there. Then we started letting them on the couches in the living room. I don't so much mind there because it's a green fabric that shows the dog hair, so I keep it vacuumed weekly and the hair comes up fairly easily. Then they started on the couch in the family room. It's a big sectional and sometimes there's not room for all of us--there will be 4-5 of us humans, a dog or 2 and up to 4 cats. What a sight we are! Problem is the dog hair blends into that couch, so it doesn't get vacuumed often enough. And I wonder why I am covered in animal hair! :rotfl:

Our dog vomited on our loveseat and we had to get a new one - seriously! We tried everything and even had a cleaning company come. It looks clean, but boy does it stink! The new one gets here tomorrow and I'm still debating as to whether to allow her on it. It's the main "cuddle while watching tv" couch so I'd really miss having her up there with me.

Our hound and golden always......sleep on the couches, chairs, bed, where ever! Seamus, our 8 month old golden, is still convinced he's a lap dog! Our hound has developed a really, really bad behavior.....she wakes my DH (never me) up at about 3 AM wanting to go out- really whines and acts it all up. Poor DH gets up drowsily and starts down the stairs. About 1/2 way down the stairs dear Lilly turns, runs back up and jumps into his spot in the bed. Then she whines and whimpers when he yells at her to move.....funny thing is my DH then goes to the couch! Dog wins, DH loses. Then she looks at me and I swear she says "I'm smarter than Daddy!".....poor DH.

In our house, it's THEIR sofa. We are allowed to sit on it occasionally.
