No Discount

We're going to the Fort for the 1st time, October 18-28...Just called.NO AAA discount is available. I had my hopes up. Oh well...still a lot cheaper than a room, even with the gas prices. At least my FITS passes save us money!!

Why are there no discounts? Have they all been taken? Maybe you should call back and try again. I called a few weeks and got a AAA discount for late Aug.

I have been trying (weekly) for months to get a AAA or room only discount for our trip in July and have been unsuccessful. We are paying $74.70/nt. vs. $40 that we paid last year in July. I miss the Disney Club!!

I have learned that it is all in the timing. Having stayed at a hefty discount last July (booking well in advance) I expected the same this July. Well, it was not easy.

At first I had to work to get all of our days with even a AAA discount, and it was not as much of a discount as last year with the Disney Club. Later I was able to get another discount (honestly can't recall if it was AP or just general room-only) which WAS significant, but only got for five of our eight nights.

Still, it is much cheaper than a room, and worth it to me even at rack rate.

I agree that it is worth the cost. This will be our third stay in three years at Fort Wilderness and we don't want to do it any other way. With five in the family, we don't have many options within our budget for staying onsite. We make our reservations about a year in advance and hope for discounts. It just hasn't happend this time.

Keep trying. At first I couldn't get AAA discount for our July stay either, but I was persistant and was eventually able to get it. When the AP discounts came out I switched to that so someone was able to get the AAA discount that I no longer needed. If other types of discounts do come out I'm sure that some AAA sites will come available.

I'm sure sorry about your trouble with securing a AAA discount. I hope some perseverance will pay off, as other posters have reported! I'm stymied too about lack of discounts available. We're going Oct. 8-11 to FW cabin and I did book a long time ago and got the AAA discount. BUT perhaps there will be a room-only discount for October—the last I saw was for August; so maybe in a month or so? When we stayed at FW cabin in late January we had a room-only discount and that was better than the AAA. In fact, if there is a room-only discount offered in October and it is as deep a discount as before, I am definitely going to trade in the AAA for it, if I can!
