My DD10 and I will be going to the world July 2009 this will be our 3rd time going to the magical place. I have never gotten the dining plan before but that was because she was so young. Now that she is 10 she does eat of the childrens plate but finishes all of her food. I usually can go for $100 of food/spending money a day in the past. I have budgeted the same amout of money for my next trip, but if having the dinning plan will save me some money I'm all for it. What is your opionions?:confused3 :confused3

How much of that 100 is NOT food?

The DDP for the 2 of you would be 75.98 per day. Do you want to do a TS each day? If you don't typically do that, the DDP might not be for you.

It really does depend on how and what you eat. Mostly CS meals and only a few if any TS and the balance gets messed up. If you enjoy one CS per day and one TS per day or are planning a good amount of character buffets then the DDP will be a winner hands down. You will need to have money for tips as they are not included. Since your DD is 10 it will be adult prices at the buffets--if you care to do those-- so that can be a huge chunk of $$ if your not on the DDP.

Of course for July 2009, any planning is a little premature as DDP details are not out yet for that time period. There are a lot of rumors going around and I would wait to make a decision since you don't really know what options will be available and for what price.

If all she eats is off the children's menu then the DDP will NOT be a good deal for you. The only way it will be a good deal is if she starts eating off the adult menu because otherwise it's just cheaper for you to pay OOP for kid's meals for her.

It would have been more worthwhile to buy it for her when she was still considered a child in DW since it's only $9.99 for them and even if she didn't finish meals, it's for sure she would consume more than that in food in a day.

Ok, this is intimidating for us first-timers...
DP, not DP?
But good to see the veterans have the info...keep it comin'

based on the rumors, right now for 2009. I don't think with the new pricing it will be such a good option anymore.

Until the final details come out it will be hard to say what's the best for 2009.

There may be other plans coming out according to the rumors that may suit you more like all CS meals for the day.

I would wait until there's more details on the new plans and new costs before making this decision. You have time to make this decision. You can book your trip without this option and add it later as long as you do a package deal.

Before the dining plan we were spending about $125 for two adults per day, when the dining plan came out it was awesome for us. Since we usually ate a counter service and one table meal a day. It saved us alot of money and we could order anything off the menu without worrying if it cost too much.
