No deposit required - a bit concerned - would appreciate views on this

I have booked a package for 2 nights at the Grand Californian with 3 day park hoppers for August. I booked on the 714 956 6425 number, and was told that I didn't need to pay a deposit, just give a credit card for guarantee, then pay when we arrive at the hotel.

This is the first time that this has ever happened when booking a hotel, I've always had to pay one night's rate as a deposit, so was a bit concerned, but rang back and they said be reassured that it is fine.

Is this standard procedure for Disneyland Resorts? Just need to put my mind at rest.

I haven't booked packages at DL since I have an annual pass. But when I book room only reservations, this is always the case. No deposit, just a credit card guarantee. Now if you don't show up they bill that credit card.

In fact this is the case at any of the hotels I use when visiting DL. I haven't had to pay a deposit.

I have had the same experience as the above poster. Sounds normal to me if you just booked straight with the hotel. If you booked with disney travel company then you should have been required to pay a 200 dollar deposit.

It's our first time visiting Disneyland, we have been 6 times to WDW (seventh coming up in 4 weeks) and have always paid a deposit so that's what made me a be unsure.

Good News - we can't wait!

Just booked GC 2 bdr suite for 6 nights and there was no deposit. 72 hr cancellation notice.

If you book a package thru Disney travel they would have required a deposit and payment in full before the trip. Booking directly thru the hotel just required the credit card to hold it.

If you booked a package you would get a few little perks- luggage tags, morning madness passes, pin/ lanyard, etc.

your credit card technically is your deposit... if you dont call in, they charge you...

They take your credit card and they wont charge it until you use it
