No Code...and my near heart attack!

I called to see if CRO had my email to permit them to send me a pin, as when I made my ADRs I was told there was no email with my name.

This is where the fun starts:

1st "Gina" tells me in a very authoritative tone that she is certain that I have an email on file if I have a reservation, and that WDW is so concerned about client privacy that they don't even share contact info within their own company's departments. Whatever, I guess that's how so many of us "coincidently" get cross marketed by DVC/DMC/etc. Further, she told me that if I had a reservation then they certainly had my email. [funny, I've had to add my email everytime I've called because its missing?:confused3 ]

So, off we go, Gina told me that she didn't even have a reservation for me!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I had intentionally not given my reservation number, but wanted her to check by name/adress/phone...none of which she had on file. :confused3 She claimed to not even have my prior address from the trip I booked in 2006 [where we spent $$ taking extended family on my nickel] No record of DH either. Gina asked me if I was "sure" than my reservation was for WDW in Florida, not DL in California.....[easily confused, I know;) ]

I pulled out my papers and gave her the reservation #, which she was finally able to find....but lo & behold....NO EMAIL ADRESS...AGAIN!

So, after "we" discovered that my contact info was lacking, I politely asked if there was perhaps a PIN code that was attached to my name, but not emailed [because they couldn't] Giina provided a quick "NO". I asked about DH, Gina then put me on hold for about 2 minutes, then said "NO"...I inqured about whether one was attached to my prior adress...immediate "NO" [how she could tell that so quickly, I don't know]...and then I asked about DS and was told that Disney NEVER attaches promotions to minors. I wanted to ask if that was the same policy that REQUIRED my email to have a reservation...but decided that some other person looking for a magical trip would have to deal with "Gina" later today and why set her off this early in day.

So, the Pixie Dust has not come my way yet again....oh well, I'll just have to wait to see what the general promo for Dec is.

BTW, "Gina" was equally certain there are no codes being issued for Dec, so I guess that means those of you who *thought* you had received a code, it must be just a wonderful dream.....

G/L to my fellow December pilgrims!

It's very aggravating, isn't it? I've had email issues over and over again. Somehow I manage to get every bit of junk mail concerning Disney gaming sites, movie clubs, etc. but can never keep an email on file to receive resort discounts. I certainly wish I knew what the secret is!

I have the same problem with the e-mail. I either have to correct my e-mail on file (old e-mail addy) or there is not one on file. I have corrected this problem several times and I am always "assured" the problem is fixed. I posted on here earlier that the latest "episode" was that their system had me deceased! It seems to be a 50/50 chance that when I call I will know much more about disney reservations than the person I talk to. Funny, I don't remember it being this way a few years ago. :confused3 I share your frustrations.

It seems strange to me too. We last went in Dec 2006, and the whole system seemed a bit more "with it". Of course I was a novice then (didn't even know Iwas supposed to make ADRs - we ended up booking them at the last minute and ate where they told us was available :goodvibes . So, may be I didn't notice the glitches as much [though it still stands out that our party of 7 was not really greeted at checkin, no lei...] I haven't decided if its my expectations, a "Disney" issue, or just a reflection of the general decline in customer service that seems to plague modern civilization. :confused3

The thing that really torques me is that to get one of the "special" discounts, you have to be in the system....but then they won't keep you in the system...so I seem to be winning in the reverse lottery..the one where I am specially selected to pay MORE, as I will never even have the chance to be picked for the coveted discount.:rotfl2:

I feel your pain. I'm also a person whose email selection to "receive special offers", if activated daily, gets turned off nightly. I don't like pin codes to start with but if you can't get one without a "turned on" email account then they need to "turn off" that kind of promo until their system is fixed.---Kathy

Call back and get a more polite CM to help you. Explain you aren't trying to be a pain but the last CM you spoke to was rather flippant with you and you want to make sure the information you have/were given is correct. I did that with a couple of them and prefaced the convo by stating "now I know you can see I've called a few times but I really don't like being growled at or talked down to when I'm trying to plan a special vacation. Can you help me figure this out please?" and I usually get a very pleasant reaction from them.

My email was lost also several times and the last time it happened the CM literally exited out of her system after updating us and then went back in and it was gone again! lol She was so cute and fought the thing over and over to make sure it saved it. I recently did get a PIN so they finally do have us back in there. So happy!

Best of luck to you and seriously, consider calling again.

Thanks for the idea on how to handle this. :) I already feel like a dork for calling (especially knowing they can see my prior calls...I like your opening line and will be using it! Thanks again!!!

I've updated my phone number EVERY time I've called and still no luck with them saving it. I've moved 3 times w/ 3 different phone numbers but they still have my original phone number on file. My memory is not the best so having to remember a phone number from 1996 is rather difficult :faint:

Good luck OP!

try getting a divorce. hope you liked your ex b/x he/she will be on your disney profile for all of eternity. i wish they could lose all my information so i can get that fixed. i've tried numerous times everytime i call and every CM i get tells me they can only add people to a profile not remove them. Usually wouldn't be too bad but when we showed up for our last trip and the CM at the hotel desk said to my DBF oh this must be ____ (insert ex's name) I about died. That's how i knew he was still on my account even though my new DBF name was on that particular ressie.

i guess i shouldn't complain as it only took 3 calls to get my new address right. gotta love that wonderful system they have.

I also received a pin for my sister's DBF who came with us in '06; when I received the pin- he was still a minor.

They have my email ok, but I moved three years ago and got a new phone number that they can't seem to keep in the database, it always reverts back to my old number.

I called and no pin code attached to my name or Dh. So i signed up again for vacation DVD and then a few days later received a pin code via e-mail, but not for my dates they say those are black out dates ... who really knows
