Ok...Let me get this straight. This will be our third cruise, when we get to the Beach club we always go to the cruise desk and sign in. Then when we get to the port we always stand in line and sign in again. I guess from reading on the boards we really never had to stand in line at the port? We could just get right on the ship ( we already have our KTTW cards, which are our room keys). Is this right? You learn something new everyday!

That is true. You'll check in at the BC (loved it, btw) and they'll go over your passport/ID stuff, you'll get your KTTW, and off you go. When you get to the port, you'll go thru security, up the escalator, past the huddled masses, through the ears, and away you go...

Let's just clarify....the above is true only if you are staying at the Beach Club as part of an official DCL Land/Sea pkg......not if you just happen to have ressies at the Beach Club before your cruise. In that case you would definately have to check in again at the port. There would be no way WDW and DCL would have linked your resservations.

Only the official land/sea pkg folks can check in at the hotel before the cruise and avoid checking in again at the port.

Now what happens if you added 2 extra nites to your land part of the package. I did this before, 5 nite land 4 nite cruise, checked in once at the hotel and never checked in again. But I read some place on the board that you have to check in and then check in again when the land/sea package really begins.
Thanks,
Jenn
p.s. hope you understand what I mean

We are staying at POFQ before with the land/sea vacation. So I know now that we only have the chck in at POFQ and not wait in line at the ship, but I read that they are now doing check ins for the kids clubs before you get on the ship, so do we have to wait in line here, or should we just enroll them once we're on the ship? And if we don't have to wait in line does that mean we can get to the port closer to noon and just get on right away or do we still need to get there earlier. I want to sprend as much time at the parks as we can. So much to think about!! Thanks for the help :cool1:

and to confuse things even more, If your land/sea tour has been organized by a travel group you may think you are taking a Disney land/sea but are actually not and still have to check in at the port. If the KTTW card you get at the resort does NOT have your dining (rotation, seating, etc.) information on it the key is no good for the cruise and you need to check in at the port...

Interestingly enough, in our three land/sea packages, our KTTW cards did not have any dining information on them. We didn't find out until we reached our room on the ship.

YIKES!

Does anyone know if this applies to Canadians as well? We are leaving next week on land/sea and staying at the Grand Fl. I thought I had heard that since we are on a US citizen we will need to still check in as we have to give them our passports.

my3princesses - yes only US citizens can take advantage of the one check-in process. All non-US citizens have to check in at the port terminal and surrender their passports. Good news is that the line is usually very short!

I believe that when you are on the Land/Sea package that your dinning rotation does NOT appear on your KTTW card. I think that prior information stating otherwise was in error. However, I have NEVER done the Land/Sea package so I don't have first hand knowledge in this issue.
