NO Cash + Points at Dolphin+QUESTIONS

After reading the posts about the SPG cash + points being offer until Jan 2004, I went to the SPG website but didnt't see the Dolphin listed. I then called Starwood and spoke to "Stacy". She checked for availability but the Dolphin was not available for my dates (Dec. 28-31,2003). Still trying to find a use for my points! She sugggested "Instant Rewards" and said to ask about this at checkin.

Anyone out there used Cash + Points or Instant Rewards at Dolphin? Please explain what you got in exchange for your points.

Also, do your points expire? How long do I have to use them?

I noticed that the Swan and Dolphin have been removed from cash and points. I was hoping it was a typo. Did starwwood confirm that S/D are no longer participating in cash and points?

Your dates are at a *very* busy time. You're really late in getting a hotel .

I booked the Dolphin for the week before on Sunday and in the space of 2 hours the rate for 12/27 went up from $139 (AP rate) to $209 . Of course, I dithered when I had the $139 rate and paid the higher rate.

According to www.flyertalk.com the Swan and Dolphin HAVE been removed from the cash and points offer.
