No Carry On

I've been reading that if we are flying into the US we aren't allowed to have a carry on bag. I went on continental.com to see if they have anything posted about this and I can't see anything saying that we aren't allowed to bring a carry on. Is this rule just for specific airlines or is it every airline and continental hasn't updated their site yet? Here is what I'm seeing on the site.

The new security measures are (hopefully) temporary, and although they have originated form TSA directives, the restrictions for flights from Canada to the US have been put in place by Transport Canada. Therefore, to find accurate info on the latest restrictions you need to check with your local airport, not the airline you are flying with.

i looked at continetal last nite too- we fly them april 15th. wheni looked at the site it directed me to check my home airport. accordign to halifax there are regualtions- small purse, laptop in laptop bag, diaper bag with only nessicties, no other bags will be permitted.

so heres another silly question. im on several meds, and my daughter is on one that's in a big bottle. there's no way it'll all fit in my purse- if i can't take a bag where am i supposed to keep it?

I have to be honest and say that sending someone looking for concrete information to another thread on the DIS which is full of speculation is quite dangerous.

You can take a bag with your meds in it as well as your purse. Just make sure the bag complies with the CATSA guidelines for size. You can find that link in the previous post.

so i can take it in either a diplomatic or consular bags? call me silly but i have no idea what type those are. i suppose i could always shove it in the diaper bag.

Me either. I would just use another small purse or something like that. As long as it is within the dimenions stated on the CATSA website,which has posted links about 30 times now in all these threads

thanks susie...atleast im not the only one who doesn't know what the heck they are....praying they'll change some of these before april...pls oh pls....


how lax do you guys think they'll be in a few months? we went down in september bought milk for the kids after security. fine. the day we left we had some in flip containers for them going through security with the milk in. i said oh well we'll just chuck em away when we get there. we we had so much stuff, 2 kids, stroller and a 4 yr old metling down we never remembered the milk. it went through the scanners in the bags and not a word was said....so much for no liquids before the security points....

yes im aware of that for a baby, but mine are two and four- hardly babies, i mean i know my little guys short and all....lol

just shows how lax and incosistant they are with their own rules they put in place. and by looking at the guys at the orlando airport i know i would want to mess with them.

Nah, that's a stretch. I gave direction to a discussion about the topic, didn't say it was "Definitive information on current security regulations and laws governing passage and transport into the United States of America"!!!

This is a discussion forum, it should be expected to see that sort of thing.
