Was just reading about Sci Fi on one of this boards' sponsor's sites and it said that unless you have a party of 4 or more you might not get to sit in one of the cars...is this true? There are two of us and we were hoping for the added atmosphere of in car dining....If this is true I would have booked another venue, but now it's too late. Any info is greatly appreciated!

You'll be the back seat drivers generally in a car of 4 other people. So you will be in a car - just not alone. - generally.

We have been twice as a party of two and both times we sat in a car. Once I think we were in the front row and once in the back row. So don't worry , go and enjoy there shouldn't be any reason you won't be able to sit in one of the cars. :)

My BF and I were just there, we were the hitch hikers in the back of the car, but don't worry, its not bad eating with other people. You can even make some friends.

Thanks for the info everyone! I'm not worried about eating with others, heck; one of our other ADRs is at Biergarten! I just didn't want to have to sit in the back of the place at a picnic table while I eat a steak LOL

In Dec. we were a party of 8 so 6 people sat in one car and 2 in another car. The 2 in the other car were fine since they were in the back it was just like having there own table. There are 3 sections in the cars facing the movie - each section has room for 2 people facing toward the movie. (preferred choice) ;) :thumbsup2

There are also other cars that fit 8 people. These cars are divided into two and 4 people sit on each side. Your facing each other but not the movie.:)

My DBF and I have ADR's at this place in a few weeks.

I had heard that there is a semi-privacy barrier separating the rows in the car-is this correct?

Everytime we have eaten there, and never have taken up a whole car ourselves, we didn't meet or talk to the other people. There is a barrier between your rows and most people talk to the person beside them or watch the shows.

It's not natural to bend around backwards to make conversation in that restaurant, IMO, unlike someplace like Biergarten where it's part of the dining experience.

No, not really. We were there last May and were seated in the back of a car. You aren't on top of the people in front of you, but there isn't a privacy barrier between you and the people in front of you, only between two cars. (in the middle)

when dgf and i were there back in sept, we were "hitchhikers" in a car with another family, but there was no conversation, interaction, with the other family at all...

I went solo their last september and was at the front of the car with another family behind. Was too busy watching the clips to talk though.

Not really but but we've been there many times as a party of two and we've never interacted with the family in front of us (all times we were in the back seat and a family of four were in the two front seats). Quite honestly, I think the mood in the bad seat is very romantic. The place is so dark no one can really see you anyway.

Like others have said, I don't think you'll have a problem getting a seat in the car, and it is hard to talk to people in front of you or behind you because of the turning-around aspect.

The worst is being a party of 3-- someone gets lonely!!
