No California love summer 2016...

Being a west coaster I too am disappointed in the lack of Pacific Coast cruises as well. I understand that Mexico might not be safe as far as cruise standard go but they are other ports along the coast that I would enjoy visiting. One of the best cruises I have been on was the Disney/Pixar Cruise that sailed from Los Angeles. We had a several days at sea, two days in San Francisco (I loved the overnight stay in SF) and Ensenada, Mexico. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a cruise or two to do regardless.

DCL's focus on the west coast is primarily Alaska. That's where they are making money. The itineraries for the end of the Alaska season have not been announced, so there's a little hope that they may do what they are doing this year with a month worth of 3 & 5 night cruises when the Wonder repos back to San Diego.

Disney is doing the two 10-night Hawaii cruises between Vancouver and Honolulu before it moves to San Diego.

I loved the Pixar Pacific Coast cruise too. I would book that one or the MR again in a heartbeat.

They only offered 4 of them in 2012, in September and October.

We are going on our 3rd Disney Cruise this May (California Coast from San Diego to Vancouver). Our first was one of the last (might have been that last) Mexican Riviera cruise in October 2012. We debated taking it but went because friends of ours were going to and I am SO glad we did since it seems unlikely it will come back again . It was such an amazing cruise and so convenient out of Los Angeles (we live about 20 minutes away). I would book that cruise again in a heartbeat if it came around again.

Cabo is ok because it is isolated from the rest of Mexico. When we did our Mexican Riviera cruise on DCL we went to Mazatlán but the ships don't go there anymore. Parts of Mexico just aren't safe for tourists anymore. I think PV is still safe or they wouldn't be stopping there.

And frankly, the Mexican Riviera just isn't the same as the Caribbean. I've been to both and I'd take the Caribbean over Mexico (with the exception of Cozumel) any day. Guess I need to move to Florida if I want an easy drive to the port. LOL

I really think Carnival, at their rates, have the market in this area for MR cruises. People who are used to paying Carnival prices are not going to pony up Disney money for the same ports.

I think the Pacific Coast cruises would be ideal and not just the repositioning ones. Something with SF and the Disney Family Museum. C'MON!!

Please, DCL, if you're reading this: There really are plenty of us who would like more West Coast sailings. And if you do them again, please work harder on the local marketing all up and down the coast. I'd love to see a "land and sea" offering as well... you know 1-2 days in Disneyland, followed by 4-5 days on a cruise. Yes, I know I can book it all separately myself, but I love "one stop shopping" and if you offered that at a comparable rate to me piecing it all together, I'd book it in a heartbeat!

We are stopping at 3 Mexican ports on a Disney Cruise in 5 weeks...so

We will be boarding on a 5 day on October 11th!!!

We did the Pixar Coast cruise in 2012 & it was the best! It was a plus being in San Francisco overnight. But, honestly, we just wanted to be on a Disney ship. The best part was not taking an expensive airplane ride to Orlando!

I was extremely disappointed that Disney stopped offering more options for the West Coast.
