Well, my budget is officially completely, totally blown for the month - I booked plane tickets and a rental car yesterday for a trip early next month to Louisiana to plan a Memorial Service for my father. The 3 brothers that actually live in the area couldn't stop fighting long enough to actually get moving on it, so it fell to my sister (who lives in TX) and me (we live in CA) to deal with it all. Yeah, that makes no sense but it is what it is :rolleyes1 The actual service isn't until the end of June (looong story there too), but I'm handling the church service and I want to go meet with the priest ahead of time to work out all of the details. It's also my mother's birthday that weekend, and she's feeling quite lonely, so my daughter and I are planning to take her out for some fun. So, while the money wasn't budgetted, it's needed - as Suze says, "People FIRST, then money".

(Due to my unique form of budgeting, my "month" runs 4/26-5/30)

Well, when it rains it pours!! On top of everything else this month, I got the dreaded phone call yesterday: my daughter had lice. Ughhhh. Apparently half her class had it. They've been rampant in the whole city the last year or so. We've avoided them all these years, despite the fact that she was in daycares, preschools and schools full time, so I guess we were due! Anyway, that required a frantic trip to Target to pick up lice treatment.

Then today during our "girls day out" for my daughter's birthday, I forgot the Chili's gift card I had that I was going to use for lunch :sad2: So we ended up going to Johnny Rockets because we didn't have time to run home for it and still make it to our movie on time.

I will be soooo glad when this month is over!!
