*if* that is all I spend, then I count that as a no spend day because those are budgeted expenses. I plan for those bills & they are mandatory.

What I record here is the *unplanned* - things that aren't bills that cause me to spend money! Lunches, the late nights when I just grab a pizza instead of cooking, Starbucks, those trips to SuperTarget that cost me an arm & a leg! :rotfl: Those types of spending are what I record. Oh & when my car broke down, I put that here because it was an unexpected expense that bit a chunk out of my budget.
HTH, YVMV :):goodvibes

Personally, I do not pay the bills, my DH does, but I wouldn 't count them. Morgage and stuff, that is life. I do, however, count when I pay for dance class for my 2 girls and things liek that. They are bills we have every month but not a necessity. I will never make them stop, it has done amazing things for them physically and confidence wise and wish my oldest had done it, so I won't ever have them stop, but I can't IMO put it with morgage and electric. That is just me, I like to keep track of it anyway. Like gas and groceries, they are nevessities but I like to see where I am spending so I keep track of it for me.

Thank you very much!! I like that, as these are expenses that do not change month to month and you have no choice on whether or not to pay for them. (Without losing your home that is.)

I'm looking forward to tomorrow!!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

The month was not that great but not that awful. While I had 14 no spend days, I am $15.50 over budget.

The good news is I was just approved for social security disability after being out of work since April of 2008. My monthly income will be double what I had been budgeting and withdrawing each month from my dwindling savings. :cool1: I was down to my last $2000 so the approval is very good news.

Now I want to stay on a tight budget and start building back my saving and maybe trying to take a disney trip.

Bye bye March:

Transportation 29.42 left
Food/Household 64.66 over
Entertainment 70.75 over new Disney movies - what can I say
Pets 11 over
Clothing/Gifts 308 over - yes, son was home and needed new clothes. The newlyweds are thrifty getting Mom to buy:lmao:

April here I come with better results.

March wrap-up: 11 no-buy days. Spent roughly $800 this month, including gas. But, I'm not including the emergency repair today--DH's car got a flat, so we decided to replace all 4 tires b/c it wouldn't pass inspection without them. But, that is not something I have control over. And I found about $6 in change, but I've lost motivation the last week or so. Moving over to April...

I haven't updated in a few days, but....March was a good month for me, I only went 72 cents over budget for groceries, and the best part was didn't live above our means - only spent money we had in our checking account so I'm very proud of us. I also hit my goal of 10 no spend days for my first no buy month. Thanks for the inspiration!
