No Buy March

My husband just started a new job and we are still getting used to the difference in salary and I'm working on our budget. I'm hoping to join No Buy April.

I'm new to the Budget board and not real sure on how stuff works. How do most people post? A diary of money spent every day, weekly or monthly?

Tomorrow my parents will be back home to live with me for the summer and maybe for good. They winter in Florida but my mother's health has been going down hill so they are coming back early. So I had unexpected grocery expenses to get things they eat that I do not keep in the house when they are away.

So, at this point in the month - I'm feeling like I may not make it to my goal of 11 no-spend days. But, that's o.k.. there's always next month.

I think that I'm going to continue tracking gas, at least for a couple of months. I understand that there's not a lot that I can do about either my commute to work or the price of gas, but I just like having that data.

I have decided not to track my dd's school lunches. I write a check out every Monday depending on how many hot lunches she wants, and I don't think that should count as something that blows a no-spend day.

03/01 - 7.50 - school lunches for youngest dd

Had a fun day today eating and doing hair at home. Had a friend for lunch and didn't go out to eat! I made lunch here and to my surprise it was JUST as fun as going out. If not more fun because our little ones could run around and play! I am determined to get this debt paid off, and sticking to this. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Were alllmost out of March girls!
