No Buy August 2011 or Tracking Spending Gives Me POWER

This is a great thread for me to join! I am new here but I have racked up a CC bill (6,000.00) and need to get it paid off ASAP! We bought a new house so paint and little things here and there added up QUICK...Atleast it was my Disney Visa and I got my Reward dollars. I am trying however to pay as much as possible each month and NOT use the card in between or until its PAID OFF! Also, I want to build up our savings so I am NOT doing any "shopping" for silly un-needed things. So hoping this thread can help me stay on track!!!

This time of year is when I'm glad that our local teacher store now carries more toys than teacher things (and by "local" I mean only 35 minutes away!) and that the next nearest one is over an hour away. (But it's a Lakeshore store and it's been calling my name via sale flyers all summer....). Good luck! I got scared straight last week when I popped into my new classroom and it is FULL with no room for my things to begin with!

That sounds exactly like me. When I first got to this new school last year (new for me) the classroom I was given had been empty, which means used as a storage room for other teachers. I had to sort through all the old stuff to see what to throw away, what to store away, and what to keep. Then this year I'm moving to yet another classroom, and again had to do the same thing because a teacher who retired left all her junk there, and the man who took over for one year didn't care to clean.

:goodvibes I didn't go to the teachers' store yesterday, AND I didn't shop online, either, although I do have books in my cart at amazon.ca, just waiting for me to click the button. I'm trying hard to do a wait and see if you REALLY want that book line. So, not only didn't I shop at the teachers' store....it was a $0 day, to boot! :thumbsup2 They did finish the garage door, but, since that was gifted money, that one doesn't count. ;) DH has already bought gas this morning, but I won't finish that update until the day is done. We were supposed to visit my cousin, but when I called, she wasn't home (or at least not answering). Hmmmm. I wonder if that is a sign. :rotfl:
