NO BOATS

For anyone heading to the fort, be advised, I just heard that Disney is not running the smaller watercraft across Seven Seas Lagoon. The FERRY is running to and from the TTC to MK and additional buses have been added to the TTC for guest wanting to go to MK

I feel this is an EXTREME overreaction to the situation as no gator is going to jump on a boat and grab anyone.

Maybe still hunting gator? Reducing numbers while they can and make sure they got the one that attacked the little boy. Seems like crazy over reaction with the beaches closed too... Hope they stop this soon, yes it was tragic. But such a rare incident does not warrant no boats for others to enjoy and such.

Maybe an over reaction, maybe not. I know my DW is now terrified to get on the boat or go anywhere near the beach. She has already stated that she will be taking the bus from now on to the parks instead of the boats.

I am much more in the other camp. I think it's tragic that the poor boy lost his life, but I also think life will need to get back to a normal point (whatever they may be).

All transportation boats ARE up and running, the beaches were still closed at noon today. The marina was open but only renting pontoon boats, no sea racers. The no fishing ban for the ponds and canals at the Fort was lifted today.

We were on site when this occurred but not at the Fort. For all the times we crossed that lake I cannot believe I never once saw a gator, but 7-8 feet can wreak havoc! Another tragedy was desperately being attempted to avoid with the boat transportation being ceased when it was.

OK so all the ferrys are back running? Which was down, the blue flag, green or both?

Think 'all' transportation boats were down in Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, 'except' the large ferry from TTC to MK - including any recreational/fishing boats.

Must have been a nightmare trying to get people to and from their destinations. The various 'boats' usually transport a lot of people.

This was most likely to assist with alligator capture as fewer boats probably made hunting easier. Also, the sea racers could go alot of places that may have been perceived as dangerous such as the shallows along the shore and near grassy areas where potential risk of encounter were greater. They'll probably hold them until they've had a chance to evaluate risks further.
