No BLT SV Studios available 10/7/14?

I understand it's F&W & very popular with DVC members but it just seemed odd that the few days before and after were open but that Tuesday was booked already & I checked right at 9am?

I have a SV studio booked for me & my sisters on Oct. 5th & 6th & then hubby is joining me on the Tuesday the 7th for a few days on a separate reservation. I was going to put in a request to not have to move rooms but when I went to book the 7th on today there were no standard views left. Not a big deal because I ended up booking a LV instead for a few extra points but was just surprised for a check in on Tuesday.

Success in booking is all about the time of year, the resort, the room size, the room category, and luck.

IMO getting your desired reservation is all about booking at 11 months and as thousands of members are added, competition has to increase.

yes and standard view BWV studios are gone for 10/5, 10/6, and 10/7.

pretty sure members try to get the most out of their points. SV rooms will always be gone before any other accommodations.
there is a pretty high luck factor at the time of year.
Free dining and F&W play major roles in availability.

I know it's luck of the draw and all that & it's F&W & it's SV, but BLT has availability for days before & after, I just checked again. Just wondering why a Tuesday would be booked but not the Sunday or Monday before. I thought maybe that Tuesday in particular had a special DVC event. Just the way DVC works I guess. Thanks for your input!

October is the second highest DVC demand month of the year and the middle 2 1/2 weeks are the highest demand time within that month. Anyone looking for BLT standard view studio during that time should be hitting the on-line reservation system at 11 months out at 8 a.m. You see Tuesday Oct 7 gone now. Tomorrow by this time of day (3 eastern), there ia a high chance that Wednesday Oct 8 will be gone. You only need one open studio for the system to show a day is open and the assumption that there might be still a lot open right now for Oct 8 or 9 is probably not correct.

I'm surprised its not available, I could see maybe BWV but not BLT. I'd waitlist, I think there is a good chance of it coming through and you could save a few points.

I booked a 2 bedroom standard for 7 nights right at my 11 month window on the 4th. I was up early that morning. Those standard rooms go fast!

Just 3 days later, I checked and there are only 4 nights available with only the last 2 nights consecutive.

Booked that time specifically for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler.

You can find the actual numbers somewhere on here... But I do know that the number of SV studios is a very low percentage of the total overall studios available. Given that and the time of year, not all that surprising.

..and it's only gonna get worse. Each time you add on another DVC resort(VGF) you add more DVC members who are going to want to taste the fruits of F&W and stay in October. That will make BWV and BCV almost impossible to book and the outlying DVC resorts (BLT) will begin to fill up as well.

I'm just glad at there are no new DVC resorts being built...what....what about the Poly...no, they aren't are they .....ahhhhh...

I think the mention of Halloween parties may be part of the issue with a Tuesday- people ending their stay with a party as well as those starting their stay with a party can be there for that night overlapping so it could be more popular than the days around it although I have always found that unless I am ready to book first thing in the morning on my 11 month window I struggle to get a SV studio at BLT.

I had a hard time getting the 2 bed SV at BLT. I think with Columbus day most of the early part of the week was fully booked by Sunday! So today was the first time I could even try to book a 2 bed SV since Sunday. I'm glad our dates were a little flexible or we definitely wouldn't have been able to get SV.
