Anyone else seeing no availability in terms of atleast AP discounts, FLA discounts, or even general room rates? Would be my second stay at the hotels (pref. RPR or HRH) and was curious if I was doing something wrong. Family is coming down and they wanted to stay onsite in Oct .. our dates are Oct 16 - 23rd but we wouldn't mind just saying a few nights if thats all we could find onsite.

could be limited due to HHN going on in October, but I just checked my dates (similar to yours) with the APH & FLA codes, & found availability at RPR, which is a very nice hotel and will get you the same perks as the other two....

I just put in for those dates at RPR with 2 adults and the only thing that comes up are king rooms with 3 people only allowed. If you have more adults, that's why it's not showing up. HRH is coming up unavailable. It's possible they're booked with HHN.

Yeah we have 2/2. Just found it weird that we booked later than this last year for about the same time with no issue, figured maybe we'd look again later to check again. We did see AAA rate for about $183, so we could use that if needed. Was hoping for APH/FLA though. What dates did you find availability at RPR for, Sea? We stayed in RPR last time, and was hoping for either that or HRH this time around.

i always book hrh in january for hte october trip.
i have found hrh sells out by mid august due to hhn.

and, hrh usually has some rooms available in october but not on hhn nights.

this year i am trying rph and booked that room back on january 1st.
used the AAA discount as the PAP rate not out.

still checking for the ap rate as last year for hrh, the ap rate dropped in mid sept for the end of the first week in oct.

so few ap rooms available i had to stay with the aaa rate.

hoping to see some drops in rates next month.

couldn't believe the rate increases for hrh this october.
have stayed there the last 10 trips and never saw the price jump like it has for the coming stay. even rph is higher than last year.

that AAA rate is better than mine!!! AP & FLA were the same, i think we are around $209 or so?
I'd grab the AAA rate if I were you... :woohoo:

my AAA rate for the second weekend of oct...6=9 at rph is $183.20 plus tax per night.

and, i get the free upgrade from the gold loews card.
that pool view is $235 at rack rate.

last year around sept 14, the ap rate at rph went to $149 per night.
a very limited number of rooms were set aside for that ap rate though.

I put in some dates for June in the online package planner on the website and it would not let me get a room at RP it took me to Hard Rock and Portinfino.

I am waiting until the rate drops. Hopefully that $149 room rate or near wil return. Looking for 3 nights Oct3-6. If it doesnt drop then we will probably stay offsite. :confused3

just checked again, and some availability is popping up (though limited)..
saw $260 ap rate for PB .. nothing for HRH, and $220 for RPR .. yikes
I know I went and booked late for Oct 1 - 5 last yr and paid $129 with 4th night free, so hoping later in Oct comes down like last year (I saw the $149 last yr rate too)

I am already booked at the RPH for Oct 27th to 29th at $203 AAA rate (3 adults bumps it from $183, "darn 19 year old DS", ) I have been checking the rates every few days. If I find a cheaper rate before our trip, can I call and get the room for the new cheaper rate? This is our first on-site stay, so I am new to all this (we usually stay in a timeshare, actually we are again, for the first 4 days of this week long trip) as always, thanks in advance!

I booked the same rate, same hotel as you. I keep checking every couple days to see if the rate comes down. If the rates drop at all you can call and have the rate changed. It is not unusual to see rates drop a few weeks prior to your dates so do keep checking. :)

Does the AAA rate ever drop?

in the years i have been going to universal (1993), i have not seen the AAA rate drop in the last 6 years.

i have seen the aph rate drop in late september the last 3 years drastically.
aph has been higher than the aaa but has dropped from (hrh) $225 down to $149 on a limited number of rooms. greater drops have happened at rph.

this is based on the rates when i have gone, the first and second weekend of october.
last year the aph rate dropped around sept 20 for the rooms at hrh sept 28 to oct 9th.

i have both aph and aaa and booked with aaa due to the better price.
i keep checking every few days the aph so i can switch whenever it happens.
they do sell out quickly when the aph rate drops.

Can you apply the lower APH rate to a higher priced APH rate Macraven ?
I havent booked yet as waitng for rates to drop.

tell me if i understand your question correctly. i am very blonde.

i booked with the AAA to get the better discount rate.
that way my room is secured no matter what.

when the aph rates come out and drop, i will call immediately and switch to aph. i have to modify my ressie.

if you booked with the aph rate as it is now, you have to call for the reduced aph rate when it comes out and drops down. uo will not automatically lower your ap rate for you. you have to call and request it.

they only allow a certain percentage of rooms at the very low discounted ap rate. or for the florida resident rate.

you need to call frequently to find out what the rates are. or, you can check on the website to see if the aph rate drops. when you see that, call asap to get your ap rate lowered.

i will post on the forums when i find out there are any drops.
but if i find out too late, i will be out of luck also with a lower discounted room.

i will try my best to post here as soon as i find out.

year before last i missed the best rate. i had to stay at the AAA rate.
the ap dropped very low, think it was $149 a night plus tax.

may i suggest that if you are going in october that you book now with the fl or ap rate and modify it when the rates drop. if it doesn't drop, you can cancel out 5 days prior without any penalty.

booking now secures you a room.
hhn has grown and more people are staying on site now.

I'm currently booked with an AAA rate for October 7th through the 10th, although I'm not a member yet. Because I'm an annual passholder, I'm hoping that the APH rate will drop below the AAA rate. If it does, I'll call Universal Orlando and have the lower rate applied to my reservation. If it doesn't, I'll be visiting my local AAA office and becoming an official member later this month.

Thanks for that .. I'll be sure to check for the AP later in the month to see if it drops at all, anything better than $183 for RPR.
